Moonwatcher and Winter belong to Tui T. Sutherland, author of the Wings of Fire series. I haven't finished the book where they meet so I don't know if there's a part where they actually get together, so this is pulled from the insane mess of my imagination. Horrifying, right?
(Oh, and, by the way, they're dragons.)

"Moon!" The silvery-pale shape of Winter was bright against the deep blue night sky. "Moon!" He repeated, spreading out his wings for balance on the icy ground. His rough, serrated claws gripped the patches of frozen water as he made his way across the slick stone floor. The little NightWing looked up at his voice, smoke rings coiling around her smooth, straight horns. A grin broke across her face and she stood to wait for him as he stumbled ungracefully nearer.
"I thought IceWings were used to this kind of stuff." She teased in her usual quiet way. He scowled at her, disgruntled. "This is different than the tundra." He scoffed. "Plus, last time I checked you aren't exactly an ice princess yourself..."
Moonwatcher's tail-tip settled on his muzzle, silencing him. "So, what do you need?" She turned to carefully roll up and stack the scrolls she had been reading.
He paused to watch her before speaking.
"Well, uhh." His icicle-like horns flattened to his neck, making him look unusually nervous. "I- I was wondering if you wanted to go on a walk?"
She blinked in surprise, the silver scales at the corners of her eyes flashing in the moonlight.
"O-okay, sure." She hadn't seen this coming, that was for sure. Usually when she listened to Winter's thoughts- not on purpose, of course- they were centered around things like Bandit, his pet scavenger, Qibli's newest bout of teasing, the newest school lesson, ect.
Winter led her away from the cave, saying nothing but the occasional murmur of "Careful" when she slipped on a bit of ice. More than once their tails and wings brushed while steadying each other.
After a while of mostly silence, the IceWing turned to her, taking a deep breath.
"Moonwatcher, I like you."
Her eyes widened in surprise. Winter had always kind of seemed like he resented her. Sure, he thought about her from time to time, but that was all.
"I- I-" She started to say she liked him too, but he had broken away from her, clearly embarrassed. Moon could hear his thoughts as if he said them aloud. I'm so stupid! Of course she doesn't like me back, I've been a total jerk and she's probably gonna end up with Qibli and I'll die alone thinking about this very moment. Stupid stupid stupid stupid!
"I like you too Winter!" She said in a rush.
His head turned slightly.
"Y-you do?"
She nodded, beaming at him. Hesitantly, he stepped forward until their muzzles brushed. His wings curled in, cuddling her against his side. They fit together like two pieces of a puzzle.
Tails twined together, silver-white against black. After a while Moonwatched dozed off. Winter smiled to himself as her head rested against his shoulder.
Finally. Finally, she knows.
