Attack Of The Fluff OTP Stories

Finnick Rivers X Petra Pan

Both are my characters. The idea was taken from Pinterest, but I know several people have used it before, so I figured it would be fine to use it.

Finnick sat at the table of his kitchen, filling out some form or another. His mind kept slipping its focus from the long, typed page in front of him and to other random things. Anything was better than something this... Boring.

He glanced up hopefully as his phone buzzed.

It was a text from Petra, his best friend/girlfriend.

'Hey, are you busy? I'm extremely bored here and need someone to talk to.'

He abandoned the paperwork and shot back a text.

'Nah, I'm sitting around at home. Whatcha wanna talk about?'

He waited anxiously for her reply.

'Dunno. Anything will do.'

Finnick suddenly smiled as an idea occured to him.

'Okay, I have a subject. Names. Yours, in general.'

'...Okay, what about it?'

'I abosolutely hate your name. Especially your last name; you should consider changing it.' He was treading on thin ice here but if everything went as planned, this would be one of the best days ever.

'Excuse me?! Well, Mr. Smart Alec, what do you suggest I change it to?!'

'Hmmm... Something... Better. Like Rivers. Rivers sound good, don't you think? Petra Rivers.'

He grinned, leaning back in his chair. Oh yeah.

'YOU DID NOT. YOU DID NOT JUST PURPOSE.'

Finnick didn't bother texting back.

'FINNICK RIVERS. PICK UP YOUR PHONE THIS INSTANT.'

'FINNICK! DO IT NOW! I KNOW YOU'RE STILL THERE!'

'I love you, you stupid idiot!'

He smiled and finally replied to the last text.

'Does that mean yes?'

'Yes. Yes! Oh my gosh, yes!'

And, sure enough, that very month Petra Pan became Petra Rivers.

It's amazing where insults, if used in the right context, can get you.
