The Blue Bastard
I hastily tucked the strands of golden hair beneath my ears, but they just slipped back. I continued anyways, pounding on the treadmill, going at roughly 20 miles per hour.
I added more incline and speed, almost tripping over the round hinge of the block.
"Ella?" A familiar voice called out. Will, I think slyly, my annoying little brother.
"Yup?" I reply, stopping the treadmill.
"Why does Dad have a dagger of some sort in his study?" He asks, a bit too innocently.
I curse under my breathe, and run towards Will. His dark eyes were shining wide as he held the velvet case away from himself, like it was a bomb. "What is it?he puzzles.
A stele, I want to say. From Dad's Shadowhunter days. "Probably just an old tool of some sort." I pause, waiting for his response. When he doesn't answer, I quickly add, "And are you meddling into Dad's stuff yet again? One more time and I'll be obliged to rap your knuckles!"
Will considers this for a
moment then giggles, knowing I would never. "Alright, Ella." He replies cheerily.
I smile and head back, starting up the treadmill.
*********
After half an hour of peaceful running, I hear a scream. A blood-curling scream. I immededity stop and rush to the study...
It was a sickening sight, and it ached my heart to see. Will, god bless his little soul, was cornered by a blue...demon? It raked its claws and hissed, spitting a foul green liquid. It had a slimy tongue and a weird spiky thing running down his back.
"Will!" The cry escaped my lips, and I reached for the separh blade, securely fastened to my belt, thanking the stars I brought it with me.
I slashed at it, but it blocked and I was slammed back into the wall. "You blue bastard," I spat, hatred shining in my eyes. "Stay away from my little brother, you freakish--"
Will interrupted me, icily calm. "ell, stop. I know what I'm doing." And with that, poor Will, poor twelve year old Will, took my seraph blade and, quicker than lightning, lunged towards the demon.
I followed suit, but we both were stopped and embraced... No crushed by the slimy arms.
"Edmund Herondale." It spoke in a crackly voice.
"I'm not Edmund!" A muffled cry rang out. My heart skipped a best when I saw Will, wrapped up in the bastard's grip.
"No," the demon hissed, "You are not Edmund Herondale, but you are his son. And although he was the one who put me in this wretched Pxylis, I'll settle with you." He pushed us two away and snarled at Will, who cowered in fear.
"Fuck you, you disgusting, slimy, blue, bastard!" I managed out, punching the demon in the gut. It hissed and clawed at me, and pain sliced open my right arm, crackling like a lightning bolt. I wince but hover protectively over Will.
I throw a weak kick, and it grabbed my leg and twisted me over, advancing onto Will. I let out a gasping sob as I heard a sickening rake and saw Will clutching his already bloody side, doubling over.
"I'll have you yet...!" The little bastard grinned evilly; showing sharp, blackened teeth. It rose to its highest, a big mistake. Now the blue freak's belly and neck were undefensed, and I took the chance to head butt into it, then throwing a few sucker punches.
Suddenly, something flashed, quicker than my eye could see, and Will doubled over again. Furious, I grabbed the ancient box and held it in front of me, and the demon sank inside. "Blue bastard." I growled under my breathe.
Will slumped over the wall, and I so wanted to hold him, to comfort him, and tell him it was going to be okay. But my wounds seem to have gotten to the best of me and I couldn't seem to mob. Violently, I crumpled over in a lifeless heap. The last thing I saw before everything went dark was Will, smiling peacefully despite the situation.
Little did I know, that'd be the last time I'd see him smile...
A/N: so little lovelies, how'd you like that? What do you think will happen to Will? What will Ella do? Please leave a comment and possibly vote? Thanks<3
