A/N- This was a dream I had a couple nights ago. I obviously adapted it a little so it wasn't confusing asf. It might still be weird not gonna lie. I woke up right where this part ends, however, if you guys want me to write a part two of this dream, instead of leaving it on a cliffhanger, I will. Also, I haven't done any revisions to this at ALL. I just wrote it, and this is the unedited piece. If you have any kind of criticism, please tell me. I really like writing, but when  try to write long stories, I lose motivation. Soooo, I'm trying short stories instead of long ones, to see if it changes anything. Okay thanks for reading my b.s. a/n <3 Have a good day, I hope you enjoy my story :)

"Help!! Marissa! Can you hear me?"

I wake up to the sound of my mother screaming for me. After initial confusion, since, y'know, I just woke up, panic immediately sets in. What's happening?

I, obviously, jump out of bed and look for where the yelling is coming from.
"Mom?"

"Marissa! I'm in- " the last few words were incomprehensible.

"Where?"

"Kitchen!"

I run to the kitchen like my ass is on fire. There she is. Laying on the floor covered in blood from the waist down.

"MOM! WHAT? ARE YOU-"

I dial 911 immediately. I frantically explain that my mom is laying on the kitchen floor bleeding out while I run and grab towels. The man on the line tries telling me to calm down.

"I'm sorry, w o t?" I ask.

"I need you to calm down ma'am."

"My mother is bleeding out on my kitchen floor I-! What do you mean calm down? "

I give the guy my address, wrap my mom's legs in towels to try and stop the bleeding, and pace around for about 11 minutes while I wait for the ambulance. When the ambulance arrives, they rush in the house, and put my mom on a stretcher. The police are just about instantaneously asking me questions. It's honestly overwhelming.

"What were you doing?"

"I was asleep in my bedroom."

"Do you know what happened?"

" Nope, I was sleeping."

"Was it a break-in?"

"I don't k n o w, my guy."

The police looked around the house, checked all of the doors and windows, And concluded that there wasn't a break-in. Then, they left.

I cleaned up the blood, and drove to the hospital.

When I arrived, I could swear I saw something out of the corner of my eye. What it was, no idea. It was a tall shadow, but it kind of looked like it was glistening, the way blood would shine over muscular tissue. I turned my head to look at it, but there as nothing.

Straight out of a horror movie. and, of course, I'm the dumb white bitch about to get herself killed.

I step out of the car, and head toward the entrance. The hospital is busy, thank God. I ask the front desk guy to let me see my mother. He tells me they're trying to salvage as much of her lower body as possible. I ask what room she'll be in.

"207," He, I look at his name tag, Jason, says.

"Thanks," I mutter.

I walk to room 207

Why's it so dim?

I flip the light switch a couple times. No luck.

I'm gonna die, that's it. That's what's gonna happen. No doubt. Fuck this, I'm gonna go hang out with, uh-, Jason.

I walk back to the front desk area. He's there. I let out a quiet sigh of relief. He looks up at me, smiles, and asks what he can help me with.

Oh, I don't know! Maybe, just scared I'm gonna die.

"Oh, I just came back up here to let you know that the lights in room 207 aren't working. And, yes before you ask, I did try the light switch. I flipped it a few times, it didn't work."

"Okay. I'll call the maintenance and let them know. It should be fixed within an hour."

He looks back down at his monitor screen, types something, and picks up the phone on his left. He dials a number, while I look down and fidget with my fingers. I zone out for a bit, while Jason's on the call.
