*tap tap tap*

I start shifting back and forth slowly losing the comforting feeling of my current position. I make an attempt to snuggle back into the corner of my spot and shift away from whatever was trying to disturb me. To my dismay, there was no hope of saving my once-sleepy state. I start waking up and reach to wipe my eyes with the sleeve of my sweater. It takes a few moments before I come back to reality. Looking in the direction of the tapping, there seems to be a person off to the side of me. Before I realize who I am speaking to, my mouth is already opening.

"Is everything alright? You're not lost, or anything are you?"

Normally I would not have such a reaction, but the person standing in front of me gave off an adorable aura. Call it a fault if you must, but I adore cute people and find it hard to treat them harshly. The boy shifts his weight back and forth looking off before answering me.

"Y-y-you were asleep for a fairly long-time a-and it seems your ride is waiting for you."

I don't believe I have ever woken up so quickly before. My eyes start frantically scanning the outside of the building through the window for my mom's car. Luck is not on my side because there she was looking mad enough to drag me out the building. I must have slept for too long after she had gotten here. I look back at the boy and give a shy smile knowing I'm about to die. He also saw my sleeping face which makes me want to smack my forehead against a wall. Ugh, this whole situation is trying to kill me.

"Thank you so much for waking me up, and you're super adorable by the way. You have some classes with me, don't you?"

"Yeah, I have literature and pre-calculus with you."

This boy has probably seen way too many of my facial expressions if we share those two classes. I give him a little nod in acknowledgment and contemplate what to say next.

"If you don't mind, I would love to sit next to you during lectures. There isn't really anyone I speak to in class and can discuss the topics with."

He looks a little surprised before giving me a small "sure" and smiling back at me. This boy is so cute that I may need someone to pick me up out of the floor. We give each other a wave before exchanging goodbyes and parting ways.

Once I'm out the front door of the building, I practically bolt to the car before my mom can roll the window down. The last thing I need is for her to start yelling threats across the parking lot. I can practically hear the one song playing in the background going ♪she's a runner she's a track star♪The car door was thrown open as I threw myself into the vehicle and closed the door.

"HOW GOD DAMN LONG DO I HAVE TO WAIT TO PICK YOU UP?! YOU'RE LUCKY I TAKE THE TIME OUT OF MY BUSY DAY TO GRAB YOU FROM SCHOOL FOR US TO HAVE SOME TIME TOGETHER! ALTHOUGH FROM THE LOOKS OF IT, YOU CLEARLY HAVE NO REGARD FOR THE TIME SET ASIDE FOR US TO SPEND TOGETHER! IF I TELL YOU I WILL ARRIVE AT A CERTAIN TIME, I EXPECT YOU TO BE WAITING FOR ME AND IMMEDIATELY HEADING TO THE CAR ONCE I PULL UP!"

Honestly, this could have gone a lot worse. I have already accepted that my mother holds the three boys in higher regard than myself no matter what I accomplish. This situation is a regular occurrence whenever my mother tries to do something with me. However, it usually ends up with her angrily driving me back to the dorm since she has no understanding of how to enjoy time with me. You would figure after nineteen years of trying to force me to develop a tomboy personality she would finally give up.
