"Delilah hurry up or you're going to be late!" I sighed and finished my makeup, walking downstairs.

"Alright mom I'm leaving for school." I kissed her on the cheek and headed to my car.

I sang quietly to the radio and ate my breakfast. When I pulled into a parking spot at school I see Donovan, my best friend, and walk up to him.

"Hey Donny." He looks at me and I can tell that something is different today. He looks... mad. Did I do something?

"Stop calling me that." He seethed. What? I had been calling him that since we were kids.

"But-" He cut me off.

"I don't care about what you have to say. Leave me alone. And don't ever try to talk to me again." Okay what the hell?!

"Donovan what the hell is wrong with you?" He starts laughing maniacally. By now everyone is looking At us confused. Everyone had always Assumed we'd be bestfriends all throughout high-school.

"You are what's wrong with me! You are so fucking annoying! Always talking to me and I have to pretend that I like being friends with you! I wish I'd never met you that day at the park!" by now tears were falling down my face and he realized that he'd taken it to far.

"Lilah I'm sorry. Please don't cry." He tried to reach out and touch me but I slapped him. Hard.

"How fucking dare you say all of that, call me by my CHILDHOOD nickname that YOU gave me, and then try to TOUCH ME? Stay the hell away from me. I'll gladly give you what you want. You won't have to worry about me anymore you asshole. Maybe that day in the park you should've just let me bleed." I saw pain flash through his Eyes.

Good. Fuck him. Everyone was still looking at him as I walked away. I heard whispers like 'wow that was so fucked up' and 'I hope she finds a new best-friend. better than him.'

I walked into class early, not wanting to be bothered by anyone. Soon the bell rang and the class filled up. I always sat in the back, but not because I was bad, I had good grades, I just can't stand being that close to the teachers.

The seat next to mine was always empty. And I was okay with that. Until Shiloh sat next to me.  Great now I have to deal with Shiloh and Donovan. Did I mention that he was also in this class?

Maybe it was good that Shiloh sat next to me because as soon as Donovan walked into the room, he started walking towards me. Shiloh somehow noticed the sudden tension and raised an eyebrow. I looked at him tiredly and put my head down.

"Lilah-" Donovan started

"Don't call me that asshole" He sighed.

"Lilah I'm sorry. This morning was going really bad for me. You know about my parents arguing and my dad left and-"

"You don't fucking explode on your best friend over shit like that. You only say what you really mean when your upset. You meant what you said and now you just don't want to be alone. Or maybe you don't want to be seen as the asshole that hurt the girl that loved him. So leave me the hell alone." Shiloh chuckled beside me.

"You think this is fucking funny Brooks?" Donovan turned his attention to Shiloh.

"No I just find you pathetic." Shiloh smirked.

"Well why don't you move and let me talk to my bestfriend?"

"I'm not your bestfriend. Shiloh, you can definitely stay." I rolled my eyes completely ignoring Donovan.

School dragged by, with whispers about what had transpired in the morning. Surprisingly Shiloh was really nice and was HILARIOUS. He really made the day liveable.

We sat at lunch together with a couple of his other friends. They were all super nice! Max and Blue were the best. Even though Shiloh has a playboy/badboy rep, he's pretty cool. We made jokes the whole period. He mad me laugh so hard sprite came out of my nose. Gross, but everyone laughed. It was so much better than it ever was with Donovan.

I sighed and closed my locker. Shiloh said he wanted to talk to me about something so he asked me to meet him after school. It's not like I was doing anything else so why not.

He was leaning against my car smoking a cigarette. Something I hated but it helped him deal with whatever.

"Hey Shiloh." He put out the cigarette and smiled at me.

"So was the rest of the day any better after lunch?" I shook my head.

"Not at all."

"Well I think I can fix that." He smiles cheekily.

"How?" I raised an eyebrow.

"Max, Blue and I are going to get food later. Wanna come with?"

"Um of course I do stupid. It's food duh." He rolled his eyes and chuckled.

"Alright then I'll see you at 8" He winked at me then walked off to his car. This night is bound to be eventful.
