My feet trudged across the pavement lightly, kicking up pieces of gravel nervously. I could hear a commotion from the gymnasium, it sounded loud and my heart began to beat faster. I'd never quite done anything like this before, I never had the confidence to make myself included in clubs or sports or anything that had to do with big groups for that matter.
I hid behind Kiyoko as we entered the building, a cool breeze immediately landed upon my face, overcoming the blistering heat just outside. We stepped across the floor and the coach called all the players back. I stood there nervously, all the attention now being diverted to us. Kiyoko introduced us, "These are our new managers, "She said with a smile. The boys took a few glances at me and my best friend Yachi, we were rather short and both pretty nervous about this new position. Yachi was probably angry at me for dragging her into this, but hey,
I thought it might turn out to be pretty fun
We were immediately bombarded by two of the second years who wouldn't stop talking to us, after the captain got them to settle down, the team introduced themselves to us. I carefully inspected everyone and started to get a feel for what the team was.
After a few short minutes of talking the coach told everyone to get back to practice. For the remainder of the time kiyoko informed us about things we would do as managers. Our responsibilities and events we could attend.
I was reminicsing about her words on my walk home, was this something I was really caught up for? I mean it didnt seem intensley challenging but still, it would be a big responsibility that could interfere with family and schoolwork.
oh yeah, speaking of which. family.
I opened the door to my house and listened as various noises could be heard everywhere. I have a really big family, and the house is never quiet. Being the oldest I think I struggle with it the most out of everyone. I took off my shoes and immediately went to search the pantry for a snack.
"How did school go?" Mom asked before I had the chance to escape.
"It went well." I replied vaguely.
"You're home later than I thought you'd be- Made new friends already?" The comment sounded rather condescending. I swallowed some skittles while moving my feet nervously.
"I actually signed up to be a sports manager." I replied.
"Oh that sounds like it's a lot of work." she commented. I watched as my mom glanced off to the side.
"I know." I replied as I exited the kitchen briskly and made my way up the stairs.
I took a sigh of relief as I let my full weight drop down upon my bed. I stared at my outdated ceiling, where glow in the dark stars were still pasted on. It had been years since I'd put them on but never thought to take them off. The corners were peeling but they still illuminated in the dark. I pulled out my phone to check the time before placing it on my nightstand.
another day tomorrow, I thought to myself.
(Heyo! its me! really wanted to write a tsukishima fanfiction, my stories usually have interesting starts but I promise it gets better! thanks!)
