I sat down at the end of practice, my eyes drifting across the room as I waited for the coach's words. Light-reflecting off of the gym floor just in front of me. The coach began his discussion on an upcoming training camp.  I listened as the conversation went on, slightly distracted by the soft footsteps of other students just outside the gym.

A few hours later at lunch, the conversation was brought up once again. I listened as everyone relayed their feelings of excitement. Hinata was especially estactic, nearly bouncing off the walls, yet he was always that way. I held down a chuckle, the conversation was surprisingly entertaining. Hinata noticed my laugh and turned towards me,

"Don't act like you're not excited," He said, his eyes full of adrenaline. I stopped for a moment.

oh, I was going too-

"To be honest I didn't think I was going until just now." I said, continuing my laugh. The team shared a confused expression. Yamaguchi took a sip of his drink and tilted his head at me. "You didn't think we'd just leave you here did you?" The rest of the team shared a laugh along with me.

For the second time that week, I glanced up at the teacher in utter shock. But this time I didn't ask for the teacher to repeat what he said, I had heard him loud and clear. Our teacher had decided to pair us up to study for the upcoming exams, an experiment to see if the test results would improve. Low and behold, I was going to be working with Tsukishima again. I glanced back from my seat at the tall blonde boy. His headphones were halfway off of his head, being supported by one hand. He was already looking at me when I met his gaze.
"You've got to be kidding me," I said without another word. A few classmates glanced in our direction, making faces at us. Tsukishima took his headphones off and scoffed,
"Hey, I'm not looking forward to this either. You barely even know how to find answers in a textbook." He reached for his pencil at the edge of the desk, and stood up, making his way towards me. I began to say something, but tsukishima cut me off.
"better not start anything; Mr. Teacher over there is watching." Tsukishima's words rolled off his tongue in an unfamiliar tone to me. I felt a shiver run down my spine when the end of Tsukishima's pencil touched my chin. He turned my head so I could make eye contact with the teacher who was rather curiously paying attention to us.
"I'm supposed to be keeping you in check remember?" He said as a blush began to appear upon my face,

what on earth am I doing?

I pushed the pencil off of my face and turned back towards Tsukishima. My eyes fixated on the paper beneath me.
"I don't need your help," I muttered under my breath, annoyed. Tsukishima ignored my comment, although I'm positive he heard it.  He sat back in his seat, looking almost offended, yet he remained quiet.

We only have a few days to study for the exams and if this keeps up we might get nothing done.

I knew that was the truth, yet I dreaded the idea of trying to study alongside him. I knew he would get work done and wouldn't cause problems for me, even if he did that wasn't the worse of my concerns. I felt inferior glancing at his work. Things seemed to come so easy for him, he was able to grasp concepts almost instantly.

Perhaps he had a photographic memory, I told myself. It made me wonder what he was doing with his free time, knowledge like that didn't appear out of thin air, but then again it was hard to picture tsukishima participating in most hobbies other than volleyball. The thought of him baking cookies made me snort under my breath.

once again I was reminded by tsukishima to pay attention, he shot me a glance and a nudge with the toe of his shoe.

(Thanks for your patience everyone, excited to pick this back up again)
