María's POV
Today was the Mafia ball. All Mafias would go. No violence aloud. Mattia decided to stay. We've talked a few times but he mostly ignores me.
We had dates with the boys that our parents assigned. The same as last time. Which means i was with Mattia. I did my makeup and looked at the time. I got up and ran downstairs to see everyone waiting for me. My eyes found their way to Mattia and he was looking at me smiling admiring my outfit. I walked down and hooked my arms with his and we walked out.

I put my phone away and we walked in. Tonight is going to be the worst night. To keep Mattia and my friends alive.. I have to announce that me and Kevin are getting married and im leaving the cobras. I'll look like a traitor but this keeps him safe.
I walk away from Mattia and meet up with Kevin "Be ready baby" he said giving me a quick kiss and walking away.
Soon it was time to tell people. I walked up to the stage and the room went silent "Hello. I'm María. And i have some news. I just want to say sorry to my father for doing this but love is love." I said as my eyes locked with Mattia's. I looked away and sighed in deeply "I'm not only leaving the Cobras for good but im Marrying Kevin Kingston" i said and the room filled with gasps. I looked at my friends and they looked at me in disbelief.
My father walked up "María what are you doing" he said his face worried "I'm sorry father but i love him.." I mumbled as Kevin walked up to me and wrapped his hands around my waist "I always win Cobra" he said kissing my neck softly.
Mattia's POV
No. No. She's being held against her will. I ran up to the stage as Alejandro yelled my name. I pushed past her father and stood in front of her. She didn't look at me. "María. Look at me. Look at me and tell me you feel nothing for me. Tell me your leaving. Look my in my eyes and fucking tell me!" I shouted and rose my hand up and she flinched. I never once hit her. "why'd you flinch?" I said grabbing her arm "I-i didn't" she said looking down again.
I looked at Kevin "You fucking touched her! You hit her you bitch!" I turned around and grabbed María's fathers gun and aimed it at Kevin. María looked at me scared and grabbed my arm "Mattia go. I've made my choice. Leave!" She said angrily. I looked at her and shook my head when i heard a gunshot and felt a sharp pain in my stomach. I looked down and i was bleeding.
María looked at Kevin "YOU LIAR YOU PROMISED ME YOU WOULDN'T KILL HIM!" She screamed as i fell down.
María's POV
"come on María we've got to go!" Kevin yelled grabbing me. I screamed and began trying to run away when i felt someone pull me down by my dress. I fell down beside Mattia "No no no. Baby stay with me. This is all my fault" i cried into his chest "I tried so hard to keep him away from you Tia. Why couldn't you just stay down there" i said as i felt him wrap his arms around me "Because im to much in love with you María. I saw it. I saw your face. You weren't happy" he said lowly his voice cracking.
I kissed him when i felt myself being lifted up "Too bad you won't ever see him again" Kevin said as i heard gun shots and Mattia yelling at Kevin. Kevin threw me off the stage and his men grabbed me as i heard my friends try and come rescue me as my father ran after the guards who took me "NO NO! SAVE MATTIA PLEASE!" I screamed as they threw me in the car "SAVE HIM!" I said as Kevin got in and the car took off as Aurora ran after us yelling along with the other not fo far behind her.
I felt my hair being pulled back and i was face to face with Kevin. He slapped me and grabbed my neck "Loverboy is gone" he said pushing me making my head hit the window. I looked away "He'll find me" i mumbled looking out knowing Mattia won't die. He would come save me. If it was the last thing did.
Mattia's POV
I'm going to find her and kill Kevin. If it's the last thing i do.
