I ran after Lucette.

Our father and us never got on, and were not even close. The relationship has significantly worsened since he married the Ophelia, the baker and Lucette dislikes her and her family.

Seventeen years...no affection or love from him. While Emelaigne and Rod, who only entered our life one year ago, he treats them like his own children.

Better than he has ever treated us.

Better than he has ever treated me.

Mother passed away four years ago, and was the only one that was there for Lucette besides me.

I've heard she died in an accident during the Great War. However, that was far from the truth. Something that only Lucette doesn't know, while everybody else does.

I could not bring myself to tell her.

When I finally caught up with Lucette, a mellow voice drifted into my ears, "Why the sour face so early in the morning, princess?"

My face blushed from his voice. Despite already knowing who it was, I stood beside Lucette to confirm it. A man with familiar ash-white hair and yellow eyes like the sun.

"Let me guess. It's the king, the queen, or Princess Emelaigne. Or is it all of them?" He grinned as he spoke to Lucette.

Lucette's face remained the same, and she ignored his question.

"Fritz, what are you doing here so early?" She asked.

"I'm running some errands for my father," He replied.

Fritzgerald Aiden Leverton, son of the highest knight of the Order of Caldira. His father, Sir Alcaster, has served the Royal family for many years. Sir Alcaster is one of the king's most trusted advisors.

Three years ago Fritz was assigned the honor of becoming Lucette's personal knight. His presence is the only company Lucette can tolerate nowadays, and a company that I really enjoyed.

I was kind of jealous then. Lucette has a personal knight while I don't. But I was told Fritz would tend to my needs if I was with Lucette. It made me feel a little bit better.

"You should wait in the throne room, then." Lucette said flatly.

"Hi Fritz!" I greeted, my cheeks tinted pink.

"Good morning Princess Alice," Fritz smiled back, and took a bow.

I could hear my heart skip a beat.

Fritz stood straight before shifting his attention back to Lucette,"Princess Lucette... You know, I haven't seen you smile once since I met you,"

Of course, Lucette is always his first and main priority. I've never seen Lucette without Fritz by her side, except when he has some duties to attend to.

"Why is that of any importance?" Lucette frowned.

Fritz sweatdropped.

"Still, I do hope to see you smile one day, princess Lucette, just like princess Alice," Fritz regained his grin,"Well I won't take up more of you princesses' time. I'll see you at ten."

'Did he just praised me for my smile?!' I squealed internally,'Wait a minute...'

"Ten? What's happening at ten?" I asked.

Lucette and I both shared a confused look.

"Don't tell me both of you have forgotten..." Fritz groaned.

"Forgotten what?" I became more confused and curious.

"You two are going to town today, remember?" He finally answered, hands waving about.
