17-year-old Shake Macoy set down his phone on the night table. He looked through half open eyes at the family photo also sitting There and sighed tiredly.
His Parents had just called and said that they won't be able to get back home until the next morning due to the roads been closed cause of the bad weather.
"Great." Shake muttered, rubbing his aching head.
"Mom, dad and Riana can't get back and I'm sick." He thought.
Suddenly, he remember his brother.
"what is Ryan going to do? It's Christmas and he's all alone." Though Shake in horror.
Groggily pushing back the covers, Shake tried to stand up. His vision blurred and his head began to spin, he felt his knees buckle underneath him.
Just as he was sure he was going to fall, he felt two strong arms grab him and help him sit down on the bed.
Shake's vision settled and he glanced at his rescuer who happened to be his brother.
Ryan was watching him in concern, his intense Sapphire eyes tracing his brother, worriedly.
"Why did you get out of bed when you're sick?" he asked, breaking the silence.
"Nothing." Muttered shake, knowing it was in vain as his brother would see right through him. "And I'm not sick." He added, stubbornly trying to stand up once again.
"SHAKE!!" cried Ryan when his brother lost his balance and stumbled backwards.
Ryan quickly caught him and helped him lean against the bed frame as Shake started coughing hysterically.
He glanced up, guiltily at his brother who was glaring at him, though there wasn't a single anger present in his eyes.
"so?" asked Ryan, crossing his arms.
Shake looked down at the sheets. "I'm sick." He muttered, giving in.
Ryan's expression softened.
"look." He said, raising his brother's chin so he could look at him. "tell me why you tried to get off?"
Shake averted his eyes away. "Shake." Warned Ryan, with a frown.
"I was worried." Shake muttered, still not looking at his brother.
Ryan blinked, confused. "about what?" he asked. "you." Came the low reply.
Ryan smiled, recognising the sheepish tone in his older brother's voice.
"you're here, coughing your lungs out with a really high fever and you're worrying about me?" he asked, wrapping an arm around his brother and pulling him into a hug.
"why wouldn't I." Shake answered, his voice coming out muffled.
Ryan smiled, knowingly. It was impossible to convince Shake to not worry about Ryan, even when he was not well.
"I'll be fine." He said, pulling back and looking his brother straight in the face. "you just think about getting better."
"if I can." Grumbled Shake, sneezing.
Ryan winced as his brother began coughing hoarsely. "He sounds bad." Thought Ryan, wishing he could take the pain away.
"Mom and Dad called." Said Shake, the words coming out strained.
