"Mom! Mom! Wake up!" Genesis cries out. "what are u doing up so early?" her mom calls back! "Did you forget?" Genesis says sorrowfully. "no never!" Her mom says "but it's very early get some more sleep" her mom says. "okay" she says back. Genesis walks back to her room an picks up her phone, she dials her dad's number and waits in silence. He finally picks up the phone after 7 calls and says "hello?", "Hey dad" Genesis says back, " oh hi sweetie" he says in a raspy but sweet voice, "happy birthday", "thanks dad, are you still coming?" She asks curiously. " On my way, be there soon, have to go we'll talk later", "kay dad" she says and slams the phone down.
Later once her dad and her family and Jenna arrive, they all talk for a while and eat Pizza and burgers. They have cake that her mom baked homemade, it was glowing with lots if neon colors and tasted great. After the cake she opens presents. She opens each present with care and thankfully thanks everyone. When she finishes her mom hands her a big big that was very light in weight. She opens it with curiosity and finds 3 hundred dollar bills with a note that read,
" Dear Genesis,
I have something very important to propose to you after the party, I love you and hope this is the best part you've had.
With love and care,
Your mother"
After the party she walks to her moms room and sees her mom talking to her dad. Her mom is looking at her dad with the saddest eyes she's seen. Her mom was miserably crying and Genesis didn't know what to think. She grabs a tissue and puts her arms around her mom and says "love ya too." Her mom looks up and smiles at Genesis. Her dad says in a low pitched voice "we have a question for you Genesis". "What is it?!?" She asked worried. "since your 13 now" her mother says, we have decided that you should have the say on where you want to live. Genesis's face lit up with joy "will I have time to think about it?" she blurts out! "Of course, you have another month until we need the decision for the court." her dad says. "okay" Genesis says with a smile.
Genesis walked to her house in the backyard and slipped on her pajamas. She gets in her bed, she starts to think about her decision. She wants to live with her dad. But on the bad side he will always have his girlfriends there and their kids. But on the good side she's never live with her dad, and her dad actually puts time aside to hang out.
If she lived with her mom the bad side is she's lived with her, her whole life and needs a change.
The good side is she'll still visit her mom and eventually come back.
She had made up her mind, her dad, her dad was the one she picked.
But not going to tell her parents until it was time.
