Chapter Nine

Nick woke up to a loud crashing noise. He got to his feet and looked around the room. It was completely dark and he could barely see anything. Suddenly there was a whisper. The whisper was faint and very hard to understand. It seemed as though it was saying “Come play with me.”

Nick then felt a tap on his shoulder. He turned his head to look over his shoulder. What he saw was a tall, skinny shadowy creature. It looked as though it was a female but Nick could not tell. It then said “Come and follow me.” Nick hesitated to listen to the shadowy creature, but Nick started to move his feet. The shadowy creature led Nick out into the hallway. As Nick followed the shadowy creature he started to notice more and more of the creature was turning into something recognizable. When they were half way down the hall, Nick saw that the figure was a girl. The girl seemed like she was around Nick’s age; she had red hair that reached down to the middle of her back, whenever she turned towards Nick, Nick noticed that she had hazel colored eyes. The girl was bear naked. Every time the girl turned towards Nick she smiled at him and coasted him to follow her with her index finger. The girl turned into a room on her left. When Nick came to the doorway, he saw the girl lying on her side in a bed that was in the left corner of the room. Nick took one step forward into the room and started to hear a faint voice saying, “Nick wake up.” Nick ignored the voice and took another step closer to the bed. The voice came again, “Nick wake up.” He then started to feel slight slaps on his cheeks. Everything turned black. Nick started to open his eyes; he heard Hannah’s voice telling him to wake up. When he fully opened his eyes, it came aware to him that he was still in the same room. Hannah stood in front of him.

“Finally, you’re awake.” Hannah said as she folded her arms together.

“I just had the strangest dream.” Nick exclaimed.

“Yeah, don’t we all have them once in a while.” A voice said. Nick turned his head to his left and saw a man walking toward where he sat on the floor. Once the man got to Nick’s side he stuck out his hand. Nick looked at the man’s hand for a couple seconds then reached out his and grabbed the man’s hand. The man helped Nick up onto his feet.

            “Who are you?” Nick asked.

“Collin, Collin Resick.” He answered in a satisfied tone.

“Where the hell did you come from?” Nick asked.

“There’s no time for any more questions to be asked or answered.” Collin inclined.

“Why not, it’s a simple question for you to answer.” Nick complained.

“Because they’re coming.” Collin answered.

“What, who’s coming, I don’t see anyone around here and that painful voice isn’t going on in my head.” Nick exclaimed throwing his hands in the air.

“Obviously the hero would be annoying.” Collin murmured to himself.

“What did you say.” Nick said in an angered tone.

“Just shut up and let’s go.” Collin said, annoyed with Nick.

Nick groaned and rolled his eyes. Then he started to walk out the door with the others.
