After two or three days Edd came back to school, healthy as always bit Matt still hasn't returned. Edd started to worry. Until one day Matt finally showed up but instead of him being happy to be back,he had some bandages and small cuts on his face. Mrs. Cotten looks over at the Ginger and obviously ask him what happened. Matt told her that he just fell into a bush while walking with his mother after the show. Mrs. Cotten believed it and let him sit down but Edd knew Matt was clearly lying.

At recess Matt was playing with his friends until he notice Edd staring. He tilt his head "uh...you okay Edd?" He asked.

"Why did you lie?"

Matt flinches a little as everyone went silent. Edd glares at his best friend with his arms crossed "Matt I've known you since forever I know when you're lying..". Matt gulps "E-Edd I'm not lying!-" "See? You did it again! You're lying about something! What is it?" Edd cutted Matt off. Matt shivers as Tord and Tom watches the chaos. Edd stood up and storms up to Matt "Just tell us the truth Matt!" There was one thing about Edd and that was he HATED lying.

Matt started shaking and Tom stood up as well then puts his hand on Edd's shoulder "Edd calm down, you're scaring him". Edd sighs and looks at Matt "Sorry...But seriously Matt what did happened? Did someone do this to you?". Matt started to tear up "o-okay..fine....you caught I-I did lie b-but I'm fine really!". Tord looks over at the ginger "M-Matt are you Okay?-" Matt got up and ran away.

"MATT!"

Tord stood up and was about to run after him until Tom grab him "Just let him be,Tord.." he said softly.  Tord was very comfuse "B-But...Is Matt going to be Okay?". Both boys look at each other and shurgs, not knowing.

(Timeskip cause reasons ;-;)

After a few hours,it started raining so the kids had to have lunch inside. Edd was drawing in his small drawing book besides Matt who had already finish his lunch and fell asleep by accident while  Tord and Tom were playing with other kids. Edd soln notice that the ginger began to mumble

"I-I'm sorry...d..don't..hu..rt..m...e....please..."

Edd felt a shiver down his spine "M-Matt..?" He puts his hand on the others shoulder then suddenly Matt woke up "I'M SORRY!" He yelled making some of class look over at him, startled. Matt face went slightly red as he looks away. Edd was soon more worried now "M-Matt are you Okay..?". Matt looks at Edd then grabs his hand then out in the halls. Edd yelps "M-Matt? What's wrong?". Matt looks at Edd with tears in his eyes "I-I'm sorry Edd...The fashion company kick me and my mother out the fashion show this week...". Edd flinches, was this why he was upset? "Oh? I'm sorry...why?". Matt whimpers as he looks down "M-My mother was caught..doing 'bad' stuff with the owner company's husband. She was very angry a-and..she started to yell at me when we got home then....". Edd tilts his head,confuse and now concerned "then what...?".

"She smash a plate over my head"

Edd's eyes widened "WHA-" Matt quickly covered his mouth "Please don't tell anyone! P-please..if anyone finds out I'll lose her...I don't want to lose another parent...". Edd stare into the ginger's eyes which were watery from his tears. Edd took a small breath "o-okay...fine I won't tell b-but are you okay at least?" Matt nodded as he hugged Edd which Edd gladly hugged back.

After school Edd walked with Tord and his mother since his mother was a bit busy so was his father. Edd looks down and was deep in thought from today and Tord notice "You okay Edd?" He asked a bit concerned. Edd nodded a little "I'm fine..". Tord and his mother let's Edd stay with them for awhile until Edd's father pick him up.  Edd had secretly told Tord about what happened to Matt and Tord promise he wouldn't tell anyone until when he was getting tuck in bed he asked his mother

"Hey mom? What if someone you loved hurted you but you don't want to tell anyone what they did..?"

His mother looks at him "Why are you asking?". Tord shurgs "I just want to know..". His mother sighs "You are too young to know yet,I'll tell you maybe some other day but is anyone hurting you?" Tord shakes his head and his mother sighs in relief. She kissed his forehead then left. Tord fell asleep

Meanwhile...

"YOU USELESS LITTLE BRAT!"

"I SHOULDN'T HAVE ADOPTED YOU!"

"ALL I WANTED WAS A PREFECT SON,NOT YOU!"

Those were always the words that kept yelling in the small ginger's head. He puts a pillow over his head as small hot tears  fell down. He could smell the hot and thick smoke from the couch where his mother was. He had more cuts and blood on his arms and knees then his face but he was able to cover them all. As mush as his mother kept hitting and abusing the small boy,Matt couldn't bring himself to call 911. He didn't want to start over again with a new family. Matt's real parents had abandon him at a orphanage. He was alone until he stepmother came into his life. Things were great at first,she was so caring and nice to the small boy. Until she decided to put him in fashion shows. She started to get more greedy and more careless to Matt at the point if he made one mistake, she would yell and hit him badly.

Matt whimpers quietly as he closed his eyes and finally fell asleep
