Chapter 5: Noises in the Night

Will's POV:

We spent the entire day pretty much just talking and messing around. Occasionally Emi (She wanted me to call her Emi instead of Emily) would get a little shy spurts. I'm guessing she's not super shy with me because I'm a lot like her. 

It was starting to get dark out and Mom and Dad said we needed to get ready for bed. I made sure I snuck my iPad.

Emily grabbed a brush, sat on the couch and started brushing her hair. As she did she slipped something under the blanket of her bed.

"Hey what's that?" I asked.

"My computer but SHH! Cause if you tell...I'll...I'll tell about your iPad!" She threatened.

How on earth did she know about my iPad!?

Whatever.

"Alright sheesh! I won't tell. So why do you have your computer?"

"Because I like to write stories and make Minecraft skins at night." She replied.

"Woah! Same!" I cried.

Two hours later Sophie finally got on and we started chatting.

StoryBookSkins: Are you feeling better tonight?

CriticalIsError: Yup! At least I think so...

I felt my bed move a little and saw Emi standing there.

"My computer died." She whispered. "And I don't know where the charger would be here."

"Maybe downstairs?" I suggested.

"I don't want to go down there." She mumbled. I was about to ask why but then she pointed to the clock. It was 2:58.

"Oh."

"Can I watch what you're doing?" She asked.

"Um...well I uh... I'm just kinda messaging my girlfriend." I said.

"OOO! You have a girlfriend!?" Emi cried. She climbed onto my bed and looked over my shoulder at my iPad.

"Oh she seems nice!" Emi smiled.

"Uh huh." I mumbled while I typed my reply.

CriticalIsError: Oh yeah my twin says hi

StoryBookSkins: You have a twin!? You just told me about your other siblings not that you had a twin!

CriticalIsError: Yeah...

StoryBookSkins: Oh! Do they have a Skindex account? I will follow them if they do.

"Oh! Yes! My username is EmicaSato she's one of my OC's!" Emi announced.

CriticalIsError: Ok her username is EmicaSato

The clock changed and instantly I heard breathing. I looked over at Emi and she had become pale too. Then I saw the eyes.

Emi's POV:

The breathing. I hate the breathing. Will was hearing it too from what I could tell. Then he turned even paler and stood up.

"Where are you going?" I asked him.

"The eyes." He whispered. "I gotta know what they are!"

"Wait! Don't follow them!" I cried, maybe I couldn't see them but I didn't want Will following them.

He ignored me and went over to open the door. I started to hear the floorboards squeaking outside in the hall. The hall that Will was about to open the door to.

"Will STOP!" I yelled and grabbed his arm.

"W..wha? Huh?" He blinked a few times. "Dang it they're gone." He mumbled.

I glanced at the clock. 3:01. The noises had stopped.

"Why on earth would you FOLLOW the eyes!?" I cried.

"Um...I don't know?"

Then the door swung open. I jumped behind Will, remembering that the door had ALMOST opened before all this weird stuff had happened. Thankfully it was just dad, who came in rubbing his eyes.

"Emily? Will? What on earth are you doing out of bed? I heard you yell. Is something wrong? Are you guys okay?"

"Yup! We're fine!" Will announced and jumped into his bed. He had to hide his iPad before dad saw it.

"Alright well get some sleep..." Dad yawned and closed the door again. I went over to the bathroom and turned on the light before climbing back into my bed.

"Why did you turn the light on?" Will groaned.

"Do you really want to sleep in the dark?" I whispered.

"Whatever." was the reply.

I snuggled under the covers and soon fell asleep. I was haunted by nightmares all night and woke up every other hour. Will did too and finally we just decided to stay up.

I was exhausted. There had never been multiple noises at once before. It was always just ONE. What was going on!?
