I slumped out of bed slowly half asleep and headed down the cold hallway towards the kitchen. My feet were cold because we had wooden floors and I didn't put my slippers on but I couldn't be bothered to turn back. I suddenly stopped in the middle of the hall and looked up at our family portrait that was taken about 10 years ago. I would have only just turned 6. I had long brown hair tied into 2 plaits and long bangs upto my eyebrows. I now have short black hair with one purple streak and one green going down a long fringe at the front. Sometimes I wonder what happened to me and when I decided to change. It baffles me! I look over at my parents smiling and holding onto me. They look so young.

Soon it comes to my attention that there was someone else in the picture! I faintly remember them. It was my older brother Cameron. He died about a month after that picture was taken. He had a kidney failure and we didn't have enough money to pay for the treatment so he died. He was only 8 years old when he died!

A tear begun to roll down my cheek slowly so I decided to go eat breakfast. I walk into the kitchen with my thoughts resonating at a million miles an hour but I decide to let that go for now and just eat.

There's a small box television in the kitchen and it was turned to the news. Much to my surprise, it said that many young girls were having a sleepover at Alice's beach house where there was a tsunami late at night in that area only killing those girls.

This was rather peculiar seeing as that was exactly what had happened in my dream!
