Out on the town

(Luce POV)

I sit up and I see Lola taking pictures of Jenny. "It's always time for pictures." Lola says and I laugh at that. "Art is spontaneous so. Say cheese!" Lola says and Jenny looks at her. "No!" Jenny exclaims. "Okay, guys, we find this pawn shop, get Trey, and get home as fast as possible." Jenny says and I shrug. "Okay." I mutter to myself. "Turn left in 600 feet." The GPS says. "Turn left." Jenny says to herself. "Are you sure this is right?" Jenny asks. "Well, yeah, that's what the GPS says." Lola says.  "Turn left in 200 feet." The GPS says. "Hey puddle!" Bobby exclaims and Jenny swerves missing it. "That was close." Lola and I say. "If anything happens to this car we're dead." Jenny says. "Approaching destination on left." The GPS says. "There it is, there it is! Park here, park here!" Lola says. "Okay!" Jenny says. "Okay you guys wait here." Jenny says. "I'll go." Lola says but then Katy speaks up. "Um, Jenny." Katy says and we all knew what that meant. "Oh, Katy. Why didn't you go before we left?" Jenny questions and Katy looks at her. "I didn't have to go before we left, obviously." Katy says rolling her eyes. 

"It's okay, I'll take her." Lola says and Jenny looks at her. "No. Babysitting rule number 2. Leave no child behind, come on kids let's go." Jenny says and we hop out of the car. "Cool car." Lola says as we pass by a car. "Truly is." I say and she smirks putting  her arm around my shoulder and we walk into the pawn shop. "What do yuo kids want?" Some guy said from the front counter. "This place is so cool. It's so rustic." Lola says snapping some photos on her camera. The guy tries grabbing it. "Hey, no pictures." The guy says angrily. "Watch the camera man." Lola says grabbing her camera protectively. "Hi. We're looking for Tiny." Jenny says. "I'm Tiny, who wants to know?" Tiny says and Jenny speaks up. "My name is Jenny Parker. I'm a babysitter, and we are looking for a boy. He came here earlier to buy some concert tickets." Jenny saysn and Tiny looks at us. "Oh yeah, you want the Scalper. Make it quick." Tiny says and he motions to a guy swinging a sword. I grab Katy and AJ's shoulders. "We'll be over here." I say and Jenny and Lola nod and head over to the Scalper. AJ and Emily are looking through the isles, and Bobby is eating some chocolate from a bowl. I look at the earrings and I see small pink diamond earrings. "Katy look at these." I say and she bounds over and when she sees the earrings she gasps. "Wow." She says in a trance. "You want these?" I question and she nods. I smile and I grab a pair of small hoop earrings for me, I soon see that nobody is looking so I stuff them in my pockets, hey these guys are doing something sketchy here so might as well. 

I hear Jenny and Lola talking to Scalper. "Pizza? That's great. That narrows it down to about, I don't know, 4,000 restaurants." Lola says with a sigh but I turn to look at her. "Well if I were to go get pizza I'd go to Mario's." I say with a shrug. Suddenly Bobby starts screaming. "Jenny, it's trying to get me!" "Bobby what are you doing?" Jenny says but Bobby runs around trying to get away from the purple weasel? "Bobby calm down." She ays and Bobby comes next to Emily, Katy, AJ, and I. I see that Tiny and Scalper are trying to grab the now known ferret.  "That's so cool. Smile." Lola says but Tiny looks really mad. "Hey, I said no more pictures!" Tiny exclaims. "Lola no means no." Jenny says. While the two men are distracted we all start walking out of the pawn shop. We get out and see the Anderson's car getting towed. "No, no stop!" We start yelling. "No really stop!" Jenny says. "Okay, go. Hi, sorry. We did not see the sign. This isn't even my car. If you could just unhook it, we're here now." Jenny says and the lady in the tow truck turns to us. "Sure, for 100 bucks." She says and we gape at each other. "100 bucks? That's highway robbery. We should have you towed." Lola says and I snicker at this but stop when the lady looks like she is going to start driving again. 

"No, that's fine. 100 bucks. Debit card is like cash, right?" Jenny asks and the lady nods. "Yeah." Lola says. "Oh no my purse, I left it at the Anderson's." Jenny says and Lola rolls her eyes. "Of course." Lola mutters. "If you could just please give us the car now, I promise you I will give you the money tomorrow." Jenny says and the lady looks at her. "I don't do layaway, kid." She says and we groan."Okay, does anyone have any money?" Jenny asks and all of the kids except me turn to her."Why do you think I'm babysitting?" Lola asks and the kids including Jenny groan. "I close at midnight." The lady says. "But you can't just leave us stranded here. I mean, we're just kids." I say looking at her. "Time to grow up." The lady says. "Seriously?" Lola asks and the lady drives off towing the Anderson's car, but not before hitting a puddle making it dirty. "Hey! You better wash that, that's my mom's car!" Bobby says. "Well, what now?" Katy asks. "Great." Lola and I say. "Anybody got any bright ideas?" Lola asks. "No, it's fine. It's totally under control. We've just got no car, no money, no Trey, and we need 100 dollars by midnight. It's doable. It's totally doable." Jenny says and I can tell she is panicking. I walk over to her and pat her shoulder, she sends me a small smile. "Wait what about the ice cream money?" Emily asks. "Yes, great thinking." Jenny says pulling out the...10 bucks. "10 bucks...What's that gonna do?" Lola questions and I shrug. 

"I saw a bus stop a few blocks over. We take the bus to Mario's, get Trey, and by then, I'll figure out what I'm going to do next." Jenny says holding the money. "Okay, whatever you say." Lola says. "Okay, let's go." Jenny says and we are off. I stand next to Lola. "This has been an awesome night." I say giggling to myself. "You said it sister." Lola says hip bumping me which makes me laugh harder. We were walking until we heard someone shout. "Hey!" Someone yells. "I guess they weren't free." Bobby says. "You kids are in big trouble." He yells and it's Tiny with Scalper. "What do we do, what do we do." Jenny says and Lola grabs my hand. "Run!" We both exclaim running as fast as we can.  We run and eventually make it on the bus. "Children, everyone on the bus." Jenny says and we get onto the bus. We sit and I hear Jenny, Lola, and the bus driver arguing until he lets us on for free. I see Katy. "Psst Katy." I say and she turns to me. "Yeah?" She asks and I look at her, I dig into my pocket and I grab both sets of earrings. I give her the pink diamond ones. "Wow thanks Luce!" She says and hugs me. "No problem Katy." I say and she giggles going back into her seat. I go sit next to Lola. "When we find this Trey kid he's gonna be in trouble." I say extending the e in trouble. Lola laughs at me and snaps a picture of me laughing. We sit in silence for the rest of the way to Mario's.
