“Its all junk now" Mrs. Admons sighed. Melanie took her hand.
"I still love you're garden, even with no flowers.”

"Melanie, are you okay?"

"And then he kneel on one knee and said 'i promise, promise to love you, you and the children.' and I said 'what children?' and he just smiled. Oh dear Melanie, I miss my husband." Melanie whipped a tear.

"Mel, your scaring me."

"When my husband got sick," the old lady told, "my son sighed and whispered 'how can something so tragic could ever happened to our peaceful little perfect family?' and I laughed and cried." And Melanie would ask for more stories.

"Melanie, come on."

“My daughter, Jamy, used to play with me doctor and patient. It was right after her father past away, and she said 'Mommy, doctor's order, don't be broken hearted.' and I laughed" and she laughed as remembering, and Melanie joined her.

"C'mon it's not funny, Melanie. Stop messing around and help."

“you know, Melanie, you make moments last, forever." and she smiled at the girl.

"MELANIE ADELE MARTINEZ WAKE THE HELL UP."

Melanie jumped in her chair, looking around her as she don't know how she got to Mrs. Admons' apartment.

Jackie sighed loudly and looked at melanie in sort of desperation.
Melanie hated that.

"Melanie you're taking her death so hard."
Melanie closed her eyes and stayed quiet.

As an emotional person she took everything pretty hard.

And for some reason, the death of the old lady hit her too hard.

Jackie sighed again and sat on the couch beside her.

They were sitting in the living room, witch was now, empty except for this one old dirty couch.

The wood floor gave the place such a cold vibration. So empty and... bare.
"Hey..." Jackie's voice became more soft than angry and desperate.

"What are you thinking about?"

This question was sort of a game. Every time one of them look lost or need anything, they share their thoughts. It's like a free therapist session.

Melanie tried to cooperate "about," she paused almost immediately.

How can she express ... Whatever she need to express.

Her heart was heavy like a rock and she just wanted to fall asleep and wake up when everything is going to be over.

But when it'll be over?

She didn't knew.

"Imagine you're a bird," Melanie tried "you're flying so high, touching the clouds, feeling the wind hit you're face in such a wonderful way, and then, someone throwing a rock on you. Because they can't stand the fact that you can fly that high. And you falling and falling and you never hit the ground." Melanie was quite pleased with the description. But that's the truth.

She lifted her head and faced Jackie.

Jackie just nodded with a heartbroken look in her chocolate eyes and she said, "I know." In a shaky sad voice.
And suddenly Melanie understood that it's so painful. So so painful.

So she lean quietly into the other girl's arms and kept thinking.

The funeral was quiet and sad and Melanie couldn't stop sobbing. She tried, she really did.

When people started telling stories and shared memories so Melanie raised her hand.

Peter looked a bit surprised but he smiled sadly and nodded toward her.

Not so long a go she wrote a song resulting from her pain. She called it "bombs on Monday" because her old friend's death hit her like a bomb that Monday morning.

She took a deep breath and got on the tiny stage and lifted her instrumental.
"I would like to s-sing a song I wrote for Rosa."
It was so silent.
So she opened her mouth and sang it all out.

"Pinky promise
I'll still love your garden,

Tears formed in her eyes.

Even with no flowers,
Even with no flowers.

So she just closed them.

Doctor's orders,
Don't be brokenhearted
Time will still be ours,
Time will still be ours

And let the tears slip on her face.

Never thought that something
Something so tragic
Could ever happen to
Our peaceful, little perfect family.

Her eyes cracked open, burning from the feeling.

I promise,
Promise to love you,
You and the children,
Carousel spinnin',
Our neighborhood will always be this pretty.

She took a shaky breath befor continuing.

Bombs are falling,
On Monday morning,
Waiting for the news together,
An explosion, any moment
You make moments last forever and ever.

Her voice was saturated with true and powerful sadness . Expresses the painful feeling of losing the person who has been through so much.

Eyes like hazel
Twinkle in the starlight
Even when they're crying,
Even when they're crying

She truly remembered those eyes. Sad love in them.

Constellations
Forming out of scar lines
Even when they're dying
Love will still be trying.

She promised it. That love would never stop.

Never thought that something
Something so tragic,
Could ever happen to
Our peaceful, little perfect family.

Melanie heard a loud sob from the crowd.

I promise
Promise to love you
You and the children
Carousel spinnin'
Our neighborhood will always be this pretty.

Bombs are falling
On Monday morning
Waiting for the news together
An explosion, any moment

You make moments last forever and ever.

Bombs are falling on Monday morning
Bombs are falling, you make moments last forever

Bombs are falling
On Monday morning
Waiting for the news together
An explosion, any moment
You make moments last forever and ever

Bombs are falling on Monday morning
Bombs are falling
You make moments last forever
You make moments last forever.
