College... kind of sucked. MC figured that out within the first few minutes- which was nice, because now she could be aware of the suffering she was putting herself through.

No, don't think like that. You've wanted to do this for years, you can't give up on the first day.

...

Maybe tomorrow. Not today.

Lectures were exhausting, MC felt like she was going to fall asleep in her chair, but maybe that was the fact that she got virtually no sleep the night before. She had a good reason not to sleep, when staying awake, talking to the five people you virtually just met was so much more appealing then panicking about college, or panicking about the fact that you just joined a organisation in the matter of an hour. Or panicking about that time you slipped in front of the school year when you were 13. Or panicking about that one time you said 'thank you' after someone in class sneezed.

Yeah. Talking to people you have just met is better than that.

MC had taken strongly to staring directly at the professor, and never looking around the class. She had already been caught twice staring into somebody's eyes in her sleep-deprived haze, before quickly turning away and fixing her posture.

She ruffled her hair and sat up straight, as a quick reminder to herself to focus. Still, her mind wandered almost immediately. She was daydreaming just enough that when she felt a tap on her shoulder, she squealed, swinging her arms... and almost hitting the person behind her.

The person behind her... oh my god oh my god ohmygod

The person behind her was getting increasingly familiar. He ruffled his blond hair awkwardly and laughed, the laugh that you make when you're kind of nervous but you can tell that the other people are even more nervous.

"Um, could- do you have a spare pencil? Mine broke." he whispered, keeping his voice low so the professor couldn't hear him. MC almost couldn't hear him either, staring into his eyes for a second. His purple eyes were brighter in real life.

"Oh... uh," she grabbed her oversized bag and ruffled through it. They chuckled awkwardly numerous times during it, now the type of laugh used when you're trying to fill the silence. Finally, MC found a pencil. "here! Uh... sorry if it's blunt." she apologised, handing the pencil over to him.

"Thanks!!" he smiled brightly and continued writing. Well, it wasn't really writing. It was more doodling on were his notes should be. MC smiled softly and turned back around.

  He's nice.

The rest of the lecture carried on as normal, which, being honest, felt like hell. Not like she wasn't interested- she wanted to do this for years, she loved it, but- she had other things on her mind.

She got home late, after hours of torture. Kira wasn't home. It was expected, Kira was years older, and probably had a job and responsibilities. And whatever else adults do.

She flopped on her bed, checking her phone in an effort to relax. Fun fact: seeing the organisation that your forced yourself to join and have responsibilities for is not relaxing at all.

She scrolled through her missed messages, taking in some of the information, but letting her mind wander.

Hold on...

He never gave me my pen back.

MC rubbed her eyes. Damn it. That was her last spare pencil.
