I had been running for what seemed like forever. I wanted to take some rest but that psychopath just wouldn't stop chasing me. I don't even know why. Everytime I decided to stop, that psychopath would shoot his gun at me and the frightening sound of the gunshot would automatically stimulate the adrenaline in my body and my legs would continue running. By now, I was extremely exhausted. My heart was beating so heavily that it felt like it would jump upto my throat. I was panting. It was becoming increasingly difficult for me to breathe now. I wanted to stop, atleast for a second. So, I could call the police but every time this thought crossed my mind, it was vanished by the echoing footsteps of the psychopath that followed me everywhere like a shadow.

It wasn't long before my legs finally gave up. Even if I wanted to, I couldn't run. My legs just froze. It felt like I was stuck in a quagmire. Panting, I sat down on the road, holding my legs in my hands. I looked back. There was no sign of him. Even his echoing footsteps couldn't be heard. I let out a sigh of relief as I caressed my legs. I gently pressed my calf. It hurt. My muscles were badly aching. I closed my eyes and pictured my home, my family. Everything looked so lovely. Tears started to fall from beneath my closed eyelids. I opened my eyes to take a good look at my surroundings. Both sides of the road I was sitting on were densely populated with tall trees and bushes. It wasn't long before I realized that I was in a forest. I had been running continuously, not realizing how far I had been from my home. I looked at the sky, which was slowly losing sunlight as well as its blue ness. I could tell that it was almost night.

I buried my face in my hands as a thought suddenly popped up in my mind.
"My phone! Its still with me."
I thought to myself, as I quickly dug my hand in my back pocket to pull out my phone.
"Damn!where the hell is my phone!!!"
I said as I kept digging through my pocket only to find it empty. I continued the search for another 5 minutes or so. It wasn't long before I finally embraced the reality.

My phone had fallen off from my pocket while I was running. I felt completely helpless. What was I supposed to do now? I felt extremely insecure at that point. It seemed as if the world had ended. Tears started falling from my eyes. Placing my right hand on my forehead and my left one on my the side of my waist, I stood up, only to discover that my legs had gone numb. I was beyond terrified.

No matter how much I tried to motivate myself, I just couldn't make myself feel better. "What is my crime?" I thought to myself as I closed my eyes and taking a deep breath, I tried to calm myself. If only I'd known that this act of mine would bring me no good, I wouldn't have done it in the first place because whenever I closed my eyes, I'd only picture my friends, my family and all of the lovely moments I had spent together with them. Every time this thought crossed my mind, a tear would fall from beneath my closed eyelids.

I opened my eyes and, looking upto the sky, yelled at the top of my lungs; as loud as I could. I continued doing it until my vocal cords starting aching. Giving up, I shifted my sight to the ground, and let out a huge sigh. Tears continue to fall from my eyes.
