"What have you done to yourselves.." sighed Kakashi as he facepalmed himself. He looked at the huge mess that he had predicted it would happen.
"Heh heh, I guess eggs were a bit messy for us?" chuckled Boruto as he grinned.
"Himawari, go and take a bath first. Boruto and Sarada, please clean this mess. I have to concentrate on making dinner you see" said Kakashi as he handed a mop and a piece of wet cloth to Boruto and Sarada.
"Alright, I get to shower first! Yay!" said Himawari as she happily went upstairs for a bath.
Boruto and Sarada looked at each other. For a moment, they stared but eventually they laughed.
"Your face looks like a bird pooped on you!" laughed Sarada as she headed to mop the floor.
"Ha! Don't you know that bird poop healthy for your skin?!" grinned Boruto as he wiped his face with the wet cloth.
Soon, the two started to clean the mess. By then, they could smell something delicious coming out of the pan Kakashi was cooking. The two rushed over to see what he was cooking and it was none other than, fried rice.
"I'm making omurice for dinner. Finished cleaning? Please quietly sit at the table." said Kakashi as he decided to do everything by himself.
Boruto and Sarada followed what Kakashi said and quietly sat. Himawari came down, dressed in pink pyjamas as she sat down as well.
"Is dinner ready yet Kakashi-san?" asked Himawari as she held up a fork and spoon in her hands.
"Are you very hungry Himawari-chan?" asked Sarada.
"I could eat a whole cow if I can!" smiled Himawari.
"Oh yeah? I can eat a whole dragon then!" said Boruto.
"Alright, settle down. Dinner's ready." said Kakashi as he served the omurice dish to all of them. The three of them quietly ate as Kakashi sat down and ate as well. He was surprised that kids become really quiet when they eat compared to when they are doing nothing. It was peaceful for a while before the sounds of Boruto's furious chomps disturbed the silence.
"Not bad Kakashi-san! This food ain't that bad!" grinned Boruto as he chucked another spoon into his mouth.
"I will go home after I finish. Thank you for the meal Kakashi-san." smiled Sarada as she looked at the clock. It was 7pm.
"Don't leave Sarada-san! Play with me longer!" said Himawari.
"I'll still see you tommorow and the day after Himawari-chan." smiled Sarada.
"Alright...." pouted Himawari as she quietly ate her food.

After dinner was over, they saw Sarada off as she headed home. Finally, the Uzumaki household was left with only Boruto, Himawari and Kakashi.
"It's time for you to go to bed now. Boruto, take a bath first." said Kakashi.
"But I hate baths." said Boruto as he shrugged.
"Do you want to get scolded by your mum?" asked Kakashi.
"Uh, nope! In fact, I think I'll do that now!" said Boruto as he was reminded how scary his mother could become.
"I wonder how Hinata controls these kids.." mumbled Kakashi.
"Kakashi-san" said Himawari as she pulled the sleeve of Kakashi as she was still too short.
"What is it Himawari-chan?" asked Kakashi as he bent down at Himawari's eye level.
"Read me a book to sleep."
"What kind of book would you like?"
"Papa always tells me the adventures of his time as a ninja. How about you tell me yours?" smiled Himawari.
"Alright, let me tell you about my story. I call it Kakashi Gaiden." smiled Kakashi as he entered Himawari's room. He sat down beside her bed and told her all about his stories when he was a genin. Soon, he could see that Himawari was already in a deep sleep so he caressed her hair and whispered "good night sunflower" before closing the door.
He checked into Boruto's room to see if he was asleep, like his father he was already knackered up and deep into his dreamland. Finally, Kakashi had time to himself as he headed downstairs. He doesn't sleep in Naruto and Hinata's bedroom as he found it rather awkward to. He relaxed on the sofa and started to read his Icha Icha series until it was midnight. He fell asleep reading it as the book laid on top of his face.
That night, it began to rain heavily. There were loud thunderstorms and this woke Himawari up. She was terrified of thunderstorms and usually found comfort in her mother's arms. She went into Boruto's room and climbed into his bed.
"Onii-chan.." said Himawari softly.
"Thunderstorms right? Come here." mumbled Boruto as he turned to hug Himawari to sleep. His hug was comforting for Himawari and soon, she forgot that thunderstorms were scary as she cradled to sleep into her brother's arms.

The next morning had arrived. Due to the heavy rain at night, the morning became cold as if winter had arrived. Kakashi woke up, quickly keeping the Icha Icha book in his pocket. He stretched his arms and stood up. He looked at the clock, 6:30am. Kakashi went upstairs to wake Boruto up for school.
However, the moment he opened the door, he was surprised. Boruto and Himawari were seen sleeping together side by side on Boruto's bed. Kakashi found it comforting to see such sight. It was at that moment that he remembered Naruto giving him a device called a "phone" saying that it was a start of a technology advance for Konoha.
He took out his phone and attempted to take a photo of them. However, he didn't know how to silence it thus in the end, the sound of his phone clicking woke the two up. At least, he's got a photo of Boruto and Himawari together for his students to see.
"Urgh..is it morning already?" yawned Boruto.
"Time for school Boruto" smiled Kakashi as if he did nothing.
"Uh huh..." said Boruto as he stared suspiciously at Kakashi.
