•After her talk with Harry, she realized she had to do something about all this. She knew that Harry wasn't stopping any time soon to make her life miserable. One look at Twitter and all that everyone could talk about was Norman's illegal relationship with a minor that just so happens to be the life of a lot of scandals - Juliet.
Juliet had to fight back.
Juliet stepped inside her penthouse in a blue pair of Manolo's, a nude, embellished Chloé handbag, and a flower-print blue dress to match her blue hairpin and immediately came looking for her grandmother. The place was the same as always, no amount of disaster would make Allen want to ruin it. She still couldn't believe that Harry would do that to an innocent person. He took it too far.
She got in the living room and saw her grandmother pacing back and forth in a vintage, red princess coat with her phone in hand, abruptly speaking to what seemed like her lawyer and on her other hand, she held a suspicious manila envelope.
"What do you mean there'll be no trial needed? I could go to jail, Mark!" she yelled.
Juliet leaned against the wall of the doorway. She could feel her grandmother's stress all the way from there and she felt bad for her, getting dragged into her war with Harry.
"Pressure the DA! I am not going to jail, Mark!" Allen yelled through the phone.
Juliet decided to come forward and hug Allen unexpectedly from the back. She felt her warm up to her touch and held her hands for support.
"Get me out of this mess, Mark. I am innocent." Allen finalized, ending the phone call as she faced Juliet.
"Harry Osborn has accused me of embezzlement. He's signed this affidavit." She handed her the manila envelope she'd been dying to see. "But I'm gonna get us out of this mess, Jules."
Her phone rang again, causing Allen to roll her eyes and give Juliet a motherly kiss on the forehead before picked up the call and walking farther away. "What do you mean they dropped the charges?"
Juliet's head perked up. He dropped the charges? She wondered what inspired his change of heart. Not like she was gonna let him get away that easily.
"Well, I am suing, Mark. I am suing Oscorp." Allen said, resting a hand to her waist.
"Keep me out of the scandal. Pressure the DA for a plea bargain, I'll pay how ever much it takes. Just make sure it doesn't go out in public." Allen told the phone before ending it.
Juliet couldn't help but frown when she heard this. She wanted Harry to pay sure, but it wasn't as if she wanted to completely ruin his life. His business is all he really has right now.
"That Osborn is going to pay, Jules." Allen said, grazing her fingers on Juliet's enviable hair.
"Grandma, just don't make the charges too hard. Harry's just being immature." Juliet told her. Allen was confused for a while but decided not to ask Juliet about it and nodded.
"I'm sure that Harry will pay to have the charges be more lenient. Probably a day or two in jail." Allen stated.
"Won't he bankrupt himself if he pays that much?" Juliet asked worriedly as she broke the hug.
"Yes. Yes, he will." Allen said without a care, walking up the stairs. "I will be taking a beauty rest. I'll see you later, honey."
Juliet only gave her a forced smile before hurriedly looking at the envelope in her hand. She carefully ripped the edges with her delicate fingers and pulled out the piece of paper that declared Harry's accusation together with his signature.
She glared at the affidavit before heading back to the elevator, all thoughts of letting Harry get away unscathed out of her mind. She grabbed her phone from her handbag and dialled Gwen's number. Within four rings, Gwen picked up and greeted her.
"Gwen, change of plans. We're going to Daily Bugle. Meet me there in 10."
She stepped out of the elevator and pompously strode out. At this point, she took pleasure in the eyes following her and cameras snapping pictures of her. She did belong in New York. She smirked and hailed a cab as soon as she was outside.
"Daily Bugle, please." she ordered. She couldn't resist the smirk that was forming on her lips. Harry didn't know what he was up against.
When she reached her destination, she saw Gwen already waiting at the front of the building. She had her hands inside her preppy, white pea coat, clinging her brown lita boots together in the cold. Juliet waved at her after she exited the cab.
"Juliet!" Gwen chirped with a big grin, her blue doe eyes popping. "What are we doing here?"
"My grandmother's suing Oscorp and I bet Harry's doing everything he can to not let this go to the press." Juliet firmly said. She nodded her head in to signal that they should go inside already, causing Gwen to open the building's door for Juliet.
"So we're telling everything to the news reporters?" Gwen asked in concern, jogging up to the fast pace of her taller, long-legged friend.
Juliet kept walking without any expression on her face and nodded. "What he did to my grandmother, is not okay."
Gwen agreed silently and pressed the elevator door open. "How can we prove that Harry's guilty?"
"He dropped the charges." Juliet said as she entered the small space. "My grandmother's suing him. And I have the proof."
She waved the piece of paper in front of Gwen, whose eyes widened in shock. "T-That's the official affidavit?"
Juliet nodded as the doors swung open, revealing a hectic place filled with office cubicles and papers flying around as people scurried to finish their work. "Which one of these are the news reporters?"
"I'm not really sure. The only person I'd know here is Peter and it's not his shift." Gwen let her know.
Juliet walked over to one of the short, middle-aged man in a vintage brown suit and a cigar in his mouth. "Where's the news reporter?"
"That would be me." The man said. "Is this important? I have a job to att-"
"I'm Juliet Van der Hart. Harry Osborn has accused my grandmother, Allen Montgomery, of embezzling money from his account. He then dropped the charges and retracted his statement. Now Allen's suing him and I bet he's about to go bankrupt to save himself." Juliet told him, lifting the affidavit up to show him.
"C-Can I take a picture?" The man said on awe, wavering his camera in the air as it strapped onto his neck.
"That's perfect." Juliet sweetly smiled at him.
