Ch.20

Genetics is just a boring class! There! You've said! You're getting ready to fight Sohyun's succulents again because at this point, you don't care about their insides. It's a plant! Then again, you had to keep calm and keep powering through. You just never thought you would be living in a world where you enjoyed pest management more than genetics. In that class you're literally forced to look at some slightly traumatizing pictures of pests or witness it in real life. What kind of life is that? Maybe you were getting used to the horrifying sights of little pests but then every class you have proves you wrong. There was no winning in life it seems.

Besides the usual, you finished up genetics for the day and got away from the building as quick as you could. The sight of the place frustrated you alone. You've been at this university for a little over two months already. Two more months of your current classes before you have the classes Sohyun has and she would have the ones you have. Great. The only perk to that would be not sharing botany with Taehyung anymore. It was getting really weird with how downhill most of your conversations with him were. It was an intense struggle between wanting to slap him in the face and being a forgiving person for Sohyun. Though you did tell him the truth last time. It would be nice if the two of you stopped fighting.

Whenever that will happen, you don't know. It most likely won't be any time soon since you have your own friends to worry yourself about. Namjoon and Hoseok were currently sitting at a table near the open field. They were talking and laughing about something as you picked up your pace. Seeing them in your sight alone made you smile. Being friends with them was a lot of fun. There was some slight flirting from Hoseok, but you were usually able to get him to knock it off with a warning. Sometimes it was crazy to believe he was the same guy who proposed to you completely sober and other times, it was completely believable.

"Nerd! Hobi!" You waved your hand as you ran over to them. Hoseok gave you a beaming smile compared to Namjoon who rolled his eyes.

"And why does he get a cute nickname and I get Nerd?" Namjoon pointed at his chest.

"It's endearing!" You jabbed his chest.

"She clearly has favorites, Joonie. Suck it up." Hoseok smirked, staring off confidently until you lightly smacked his arm.

"I don't have favorites." You huffed, squeezing your way in between them to sit down on the table. They made room for you as you sat comfortably. Finally, you could put down the heavy textbook for genetics. Having it stay in your bag was killing your shoulder.

Hoseok pouted at your words, but he figured that would be something you would say. He knew your reactions to a lot of things yet he still made attempts. Like when he tried to put his arm around your shoulders and pull you closer to him. It wouldn't be a problem if he didn't pull you closer, but Hoseok likes to test you as if you'll suddenly change your mind. Marriage currently isn't on your mind so that sucks for him. Before you could remove his arm off you, Namjoon did it for you and told his friend off. It was actually pretty funny with how quick they were to bicker. It was always entertaining to hear them as it slowly turned into them being closer friends than they were before. It was the most interesting thing to witness.

At least this time you didn't feel like a third wheel around them. The boys included you in their nonsense which you had no idea how to keep up with. All you wanted was the chocolate bar Namjoon promised you earlier. After pestering him relentlessly, he finally gave it to you. This is what you were truly looking forward to! Namjoon shook his head as he pulled out his astronomy textbook. Today he would be teaching you more about Mercury. Clearly he loved that planet the most except Hoseok whined and wanted to hear about Neptune. Did he like planets to? Hoseok has been around a lot more lately to crash your astronomy lessons with Namjoon and he always preferred to hear about Neptune. His only comment about that was that Poseidon seemed like a cool dude and a simple shrug.
