John

"What kind of ability do you have?"

Everyone swayed their heads toward me, curious about my answer.

Shoot. I didn't want to answer this so quickly.
Dad said not to show weakness, but there wasn't much else I could do.

I don't want it to end up like last time, but what choice do I have?

"Uh, John are you okay there? You sotra zoned out a bit." Elaine questioned.

"Yea, I'm fine. I just got distracted."

"So what's your ability? There's so many different types, I'm curious which one you have!" Elaine said with a glow in her eyes.

"Actually, I dont want to tell you my ability." I replied hastily.

"Uh, why is that?" Elaine asked confused.

"Just a personal reason, but know that it's pretty strong, might even be the strongest in this school." I grinned.

I noticed a girl with purple hair in the back roll her eyes. She was pretty strong, probably about a 8 in power, and a 10 in looks.

"What are you laughing about?" Elaine asked innocently.

I started blushing a bit, "O-oh nothing at all."

The classes were boring, and to make matters worse I couldn't use the damn bathroom.

I had to run around for a minute and even then there were issues.

"THAT HURT" I heard a redhead boy scream.

"Yeesh dude go fight somewhere else" I said annoyed. "I just wanna take a shit."

I had to walk across the school to get to the second bathroom, and then there was some grey dude punching another student.

"Do it again, or I will make you." he threatened.

"Just l-leave me alone" The kid whimpered.

Dammit, why can I just get to a bathroom? These people have issues.

"Hey dude, can I just use the bathroom?" I asked.

"Oh, aren't you the new kid who thinks he's the shit? You haven't been put in your place yet have you?"

He activated his ability, a enhancment type, and rushed towards me.

Dude you're so generic. Like that bully stereotype.

I parried his punch, grabbed his arm and ducked, twisting my body to fling him out towards the window. With a loud crash, he fell outside the second floor. I looked at the kid he was bullying, and helped him up.

"Do you need help to the infirmary?" I asked.

"I-I should be fine." He grimaced.

The bell rang, alerting everyone to the introduction of the next class.

"Shoot, I need to go to class." I ran off, not giving the kid another thought.

Several more classes later, the lunch bell rang, signaling the start of the best period. I ran to the cafeteria, only to find that there was one choclate cake left. I ran to it, and raised the plate up in euphoria.

"Hey, hand that over."

I looked up and the purple haired girl from earlier was standing in fron of me. On her phone. Like she didn't care enough to give me her full attention.

Omg, the new student is challenging Seraphina!

I'm outta here, I don't want to get killed in the crossfire.

Uh, guys, where did all the cake go :(

"Uh, no way that's happening. I was here first, you should've been quicker." I retorted.

"I said hand it over!" She spat.

She activated her ability and so did I.

Hmm, a time ability, seems like she hasn't fully reached it's potential. Lets try not to reveal too much about myself.

I paused time, including so called 'Seraphina' and grabbed her bridal style, leading her to the rooftop.

This should keep my ability secret. Anyone in the cafe will just thing that I got dragged outside by Seraphina.

I unpaused time, and prepared for her reaction. She stopped, and stared around in confusion, to find that she was no longer in the cafeteria, and instead on the rooftop.

"what did you do?" She asked in a whisper, narrowing her eyes.

"Simple, I brought you here." I replied with a smirk.

"How? I activated my ability, no way you were faster than me! You have to have a teleport ability!"

I smirked, seeing her confusion. She would no doubt be mad when I revealed I beat her at her own game.

" I used your ability. You don't seem to be the best wielder of it though."

"What? How did you use my ability? And so quickly at that?"

I started to explain how I didnt want to tell everyone my ability yet, without revealing anything about my past. She nodded when I explained that she could still get more powerful, but gasped when I told her my power level.

"You're that strong? That makes you the strongest in the school." She exclaimed.

She then stopped and pondered, wondering about something.

"How come you aren't the king then?"

I started sweating, and chuckled nervously.

"I really don't want that responsibility, I just wanna chill and get school done." I replied.

Seraphina sighed. "Think about it. The current king Asslo does whatever he wants. Plenty of freedom if you think about it."

She stopped and looked at me confused.

"What was your name again?" She asked.

"John, John doe."

"Well," she paused, "I'm Seraphina." She smiled.

I paused for a moment, and she asked what I was thinking about.

"Seraphina is too long. How about a nickname?" I grinned.

"Hmmm, there aren't many options though."
She pondered.

"Sera!" I exclaimed. I looked over at her to see her struggling to keep in laughter.

"Hey!" I pouted. I pushed her jokingly.

"Sera," She said. "I like it. See you around John." She winked at me and left the rooftop.

See you around? A new friend?!?

I laid down, and fist pumped the air gleefully.

IM ALIIIIIIVVVE.

As a little update, I was really sick for a couple of days and had to get tested for Covid-19. Rejoice, as I was negative.

However, I had to take a huge break as some other events happened. Nothing serious and all is well. My cat did chew up my phone charger and I had to get a new one.

You can imagine my surprise when I check wattpad and my story has over 100 views! So sorry for not uploading in forever, but I now plan to update at least 1 time a week, and I hope to keep the word count above 1k.

See u later.
