The room was heavy with static as Bam hopped back and hit Rak with another couple bangs.

"Ow! Why am I black turtle's punching bag! Prey should not get to hit their predator like this!" Rak roared. Khun smirked as he pushed off from the wall. Always whining, he thought to himself.

"Alright, I think that's enough training for today, guys. Let's grab some dinner." Khun walked towards the door and stopped in the doorway. Glancing back, he caught Bam grabbing a bottle of water off the floor and laughing when little chibi Rak tried to knock it out of his hands. Why does that guy look so adorable doing literally anything, Khun blushed and turned away.

As they reached the cafeteria, Rak shoved forward to grab a tray of food. Bam kept pace with Khun and studied the other boy's face.

"Thanks for helping me train today, Khun-san. I'm glad I have friends like you." Bam smiled at him kindly.

"It was good for all of us to train. We need to grow as a team so that we can reach the next floor." Khun shrugged and grabbed a tray, handing it to Bam. "We all are trying to catch up to you in our own ways. You've gotten really powerful compared to us."

"I just want to protect the people important to me, that's all." Bam blushed as he grabbed the tongs to serve himself. "I don't want anything bad to happen to you. Or anyone else."

Khun chuckled. "Yeah, it'd be a real shame if something were to happen to the crocodile."

Bam laughed in response. "Hey, he's not so bad anymore." They both glanced over at Rak, who had already sat at a table and devoured most of his meal. They made their way over to the table.

"Eat up, black turtle, so that you taste better when I finally decide to eat you. Hmph." Rak finished shoveling food into his mouth and got up to leave.

"Don't forget about training tomorrow morning!" Bam called out. Khun looked up from his plate.

"Yeah, yeah, turtle. I'll be there."

"He didn't even take care of his dishes. Why are you so nice to him?" Khun rolled his eyes. Bam shrugged and looked down at his own plate.

"Well, because he's a friend."

"I guess that's enough reason. Although, I don't know who you aren't friends with."

"I thought I was friends with Endorsi, but she seems to think it's more than that." Bam giggled, then sighed, pushing his food around with his utensil.

"She sure does, doesn't she." Khun mulled. He gazed across the table at Bam. "You don't want to be more than friends with her?"

"Well...", Bam hesitated. Khun felt a lump form in his throat and looked down, not before the two made awkward eye contact. "...no, not really. She's a really nice person... but... I-I've just... had someone else... on my mind lately..." Bam kept his eyes glued to his plate.

Khun felt the lump double in size. It was getting hard to eat his dinner. Of course Bam is thinking of someone else. He basically has a harem of girls to choose from. But which one has he been hanging out with lately? How did I miss that Bam is hanging out with someone else? He quickly looked up at Bam and forced a smile.

"Oh you've got a crush, huh? So is it Ewan? Anaak? Elaine? Hmm, maybe it's Yuri.." Khun struggled to swallow another bite of food while watching for Bam's answer. Maybe it was better that he didn't know. His heart was already in his stomach and he knew he would feel worse if he were to start picturing someone else making out with Bam.

"Oh-h... n-no it's not any of them." Bam looked like he was going to shrink into himself like an actual turtle.

"Hmm, well whoever it is doesn't know how lucky they are to have you crushing on them!" Khun forced another smile and scratched the back of his head.
