Kit's POV

If I don't say so myself, my high school really turned out some good looking guys! Obviously Pha, Beam and I but also Yo and his tall, dark friend.

Yo's a good kid and Phana is crazy about him - more so since he has actually recognised him, but I worry that Pha is going to lose out to Yo's handsome, best pal. The two seem awfully close...

When I think about it, they were always together at school. Beam and I were always on 'Wayo Alert' because of Pha's stalker tendencies but all I remember was that if I saw Yo, then the tall one was right beside him. And now, the two of them have come to the same university too. Ok - they're in different faculties but as of right now, when the only thing they have to do is practice for the Moon and Star pageant, the two of them are inseparable. Are they more than just friends?

Beam certainly thinks so and he couldn't keep his big mouth shut about it so his musings have been an ear worm to Phana who is stressing. It's all "Forth's junior has been besides him forever; who do you think comforted Yo when I was being a moron at school? Of course Shorty would follow his boyfriend to university... Oh woe is me!!" Give that dude an Oscar. His amateur dramatics should win awards!

I didn't think that Beam had any substance to his theory but last night his friend seemed to be very possessive of young Wayo. Telling Phana to take care of him. His eyes were angry and didn't break contact with Phana's during their entire conversation. The undertone of his words said 'hurt him and I'll break you.' Well, that's what Beam heard and I have to admit, if I was in Pha's shoes, I would be a little disconcerted.

I'm not convinced that there is anything going on between the two of them... Yet!

And, that's what I'm gonna try and work out. They're friends - best friends at that.

I know that I would probably feel the same way if I thought someone was likely to hurt Beam and Phana so in some respects, I can't blame him but Beam and I need to be sure that it really is 'best friend only' feelings here and that Yo's pal isn't hoping for anything more to develop.

So, Beam and I agreed that I should take one for the team. Well, Beam volunteered me. I'm gonna use all of my, at this time, untapped skills as a wily, undercover, understander (is that even a word?!) of the tall engineer.

My duties, as far as Beam relayed it to me is to watch him and his interactions with Yo; watch his interactions with others as maybe we have it all wrong and he might have another romantic partner that we're not aware of and, as a last resort - I have to pursue him myself so as to distract him from Yo, thus leaving our adorable junior at the mercy of Phana.

I'm really hoping it doesn't get as that far, but Beam seems to think it's necessary to include it in our plan of action to ensure success in 'Operation - Make Yo Phana's boyfriend'. I don't know why Beam get's to chose the names of our plans. They're always stupid and obvious. The guy doesn't have a creative bone is his body.

The first opportunity I had to watch him was in the campus car park earlier this morning when everyone was preparing to leave for the beach. Phana was late, as per bloody usual and Beam and I were checking out the freshman stars who were squealing and hair flicking all over the place. We were standing away from the large bus that was prepared to carry the freshmen to their destination and it was far enough that we could ogle and perv unnoticed. This is Beam's favourite pastime after all, so even at 8.45am, he wouldn't be pleased to be disturbed.

"So what's the plan Ai'Kit?" Beam turned to me as we leaned against his car.

I looked at him with probably the best confused face that I could muster. Beam pointed to the freshmen who were gathering beside the bus. Yo's friend had joined the throng, waii'ing politely to his fellow pageant competitors and seniors, wheeling his case behind him.
