As soon as Claire left Eartha's room, silence crept in. the kind of silence that was slowly and inhumanly pushing her to abyss.

To the darkest of pits and all that echoed in there was her fears , regrets, loneliness and something else. Something else wanted to be released .

Claire could not take it anymore and so she took her favorite book.

Not to read but to write.

She loved poems and writing them was her way out.

It was a way of expressing herself and they gave her the best release.

It was a book filed with all kinds of emotions.

There was sunshine, there was also darkness in the same book.

It was her little world.

and so she wrote...

my mind is like a no escape room

I am there

my worst fears are there

I'm walking on broken glass...........

She couldn't finish it.

The words were there but she couldn't reach out and grab them. Something else was stealing them away from her and at the same time stealing all the happiness from her, and leaving her empty and alone.

That was the first day, the first night Eartha felt no ecstasy in writing a poem.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*

I could here the footsteps .They were coming nearer and nearer. As the person took a step forward ,my heart leapt a bit .My heart was beating so fast, so loudly , that I was almost sure he could hear it .

No , not he ...they

They came closer then....

Eartha woke up startled.

What a creepy dream she thought to herself.

She couldn't sleep again after the dream and so she took a book from her bookshelf and started to read it .more like re-read it.

She couldn't concentrate . She read the same paragraph over and over again without grasping anything as her thoughts trailed.

Finally , she gave up and decided to go out for a run.

''Should I ran all the way down to the lake, or would that be too much for a start ??'' she asked herself.

''it is quite a nice morning for some challenging , don't you think so ???'' she answered herself

Happily ,she jogged along.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Athelstan could not sleep either . he decided to go out for a run. A little light crept in through the darkness , so it wasn't a very dark 5:00AM .

As he ran ,he could feel his frustration growing more and more. He had wanted to help that girl Eartha .

He felt like the worst of failures.

This was what he was supposed to be doing .

Helping people in need, but the one person he wanted so badly to help ,refused his help.

She didn't even think about it. God !!! her stubbornness.

He had gotten a liking for her almost instantly.

He remembered when a certain nurse had gone out to take a smoke and ran back in shouting a dead girl was lying on the hospital's parking lot.

He had ran out to fortunately find that she wasn't dead but her pulse was very low ,you could mistake it for not being there ,but he had prided himself to be a very careful doctor.

A skill he needed as he was the only surgeon in that hospital.

He had come to a conclusion that someone had brought her there and was probably afraid of the questions they would be bombarded with if they brought her in.

It was a nice gesture but a dumb one since if it were not for the smoking nurse she would have probably laid there the whole night.

He remembered how he had taken care of her for the whole night even without the help of the nurses.

Right there and then he decided that he would look for her and give her his help even though she rejected it .

Athelstan was now running through a darker path. The breeze was colder at this side of town and you could feel you were near the lakeside.

The lake was the one place everyone loved and enjoyed being at.

On normal days , you could see quite a lot of runners at this little path, but on this particular day , there was no one.

He probably had gone off a little bit too early for his morning run today. he thought to himself.

The evergreen trees growing on this particular area due to the presence of a lake ,made it a little bit more dark, and the doctor couldn't help it but be more aware.

It felt creepier .Maybe because there were no other runners on the path.

He decided he would just end his run there and not go all the way to the lake, when he caught a glimpse of something in the bushes. A piece of a cloth.

He felt a bit curious and so he thought to check it out.

He crept nearer the bushes soundlessly and carefully ,almost on his tiptoes .

He was almost a mile away when he saw the cloth go all the way up and so he assumed it was a human form .

It was ,but the cloth lay spread out ,beside the form.

The form was lifeless, and his doctor instincts shot up.

He reached for his phone to provide some form of lighting.

He stiffened ,completely and utterly in disbelief at what lay in front of him.

As he looked at the disemboweled naked body of a girl ,he felt a part of his humanity fade away. His flesh crawled. He would have puked his guts out ,were it not for the fact that he was a doctor.

All the girls organs were ripped out from her chest, her stomach, and something was done to her genitals too.

But all the organs were not stolen, no!! ,they also lay there beside her, neatly arranged.

what the fuck !!! what kind of a psycho would have done his !!

This could only be done by an animal ,except for the fact that an animal would not be able to use a knife or an object. A sharp object he surmised.

An animal in human form then, cause whomever did this did not have a heart, not even a soul.

As he looked at the murder scene in front of him, he perfectly understood he had to get away from there.

Fuck helping others, this was more than he could handle.

If he reported this, he would get too much involved and anything could go wrong in such cases.

He would probably end up being suspect number one.

He couldn't risk it.

and so he ran. He ran as first as he could, back to his place, praying nothing would show his presence ever being there. ever !!

GUYS I DECIDED TO CHANGE THE CITY FROM NAIROBI TO A TOWN, by the name the lakeside.
