Playing outside in the snow, all bundled with a large puffy blue coat with fur around the hood and sleeves, Kida giggled softly as she waited behind a large wall of snow for her small size. She she had a pile of snow in her hands, watching as the other little girl was grabbing her brother. "Come on Sokka! I want to show you something!" She said, Kida getting ready as she lowered to the ground more like a wolf-leopard.
"What is it this? If it's going to be more snow penguins, I've already seen a hundred today." He whined, the girl seeing his little ponytail bounce as he was nearing her.
"No, it's in the water. Look!" She yelled, pretending to see something interesting as Kida smirked, her bright blue eyes shining off in the sun's light in excitement.
"I don't see- -" and before he could finish, Kida pounced on him.
"AHHH!" She yelled, shoving the snow in his face, her little arms tossing as hard as she could, and Sokka screamed. The girls laughed at him, seeing his cheeks turn red from embarrassment.
"Got you!" She screamed in his face, the girl smiling down at her best friend. He sighed, seeing it was just Kida.
"You scared me!" He yelled at her, pushing her off as she gasped, falling into the snow as she frowned.
"That's the point, Sokka. Always use a sneak attack." She smirked and Katara laughed, only for the kids to see the black snow fall.
Kida's eyes widened, her lips pursing as Katara frowned. "I'm going to find mom." Katara told her brother, running off while Kida looked around.
She saw Sokka putting on a brave face and she grabbed his arm. "No! Don't go." She breathed out, scared for her friend.
"I have to, Rosie! To protect the tribe and you!" He said, pulling her hand off as he ran with his father and the other warriors.
The girl shook, feeling colder at the battle in front of her eyes as she ran off to her tent. She went over, pulling the curtain back as she already saw the red flames in front of her. "Dad!" She yelled, seeing his body fall.
The Fire Nation soldier turned around, seeing the young girl's eyes wide in fear as tears fell. She couldn't stop staring at her father's eyes, the light in them gone and the blood pooling around him.
The girl saw the man step closer to her as she couldn't move. In the moment, she knew that red was her least favorite color and she would always hate the Fire Nation for the scars along her arm.
