CHAPTER 8
The sound of the engine of the helicopter we were in was the only thing at this point keeping me from going insane from the past...as I was wiping my Harley of its light scratches the room lights up red...our que that we were nearing our drop on the shore of France.
We remove the harnesses that were holding up our bikes and the back of the helicopter opens...We get on and we would be a good distance from the ground. The guy tried to offer us parachutes. "No need...we're vampires kiddo." I exclaimed.
The room lit up green and Anna was in front of me took off, I rev'd my bike. "Maximum Effort" I muttered as I took off...leaving a slight burn on the ground of the Helicopter. I hit the sand and rode through the onlookers of the beach...leaning left and right past them. I then drove up the shore wall and over the traffic...I land in front of a car and drove ahead catching up to Anna, hearing the bystanders honk their horns and screaming at us.
Once I had caught up to Anna and I was right next to her. We both did a small wheelie and rode forward. The screens in the middle of our handles lit up as the Deputy Director began to speak. "Anna, Mark...their at the NATO base in Geilenkirchen, Germany...we have local GSG-9 and Hellsing Elites have already surrounded the base and some of them have already taken sniper fire." She stated. "It's probably the Russian bitch that shot me in the nuts back in Soho Square." I retorted. "What's worse is that the Drone Carrier is already on the runway. German and American air-forces are scrambling their fighters. NATO wants you to save the Drone Carrier...however..." "No Guarantee." I finished for the Deputy Director. "Anna...you deal with the Russian, I'll deal with James Murdoc." I stated. "We'll get the job done...one way or another." I said to the Deputy Director.
I heard Anna ride closer to me. "This must be hard..." She started. "What is?" I asked. She sighed as she finished. "Having to fight and kill someone you were once friends with...it must be hard." She answered, trying to be sympathetic with me. "Well, it would be...if he knew I wasn't responsible for his family slaughter." I retorted. "You mean he doesn't?!" She asked slightly shocked. "Yeah...I never got the chance to tell him!" I responded. "The guy kept interrupting me...I never even got a chance to reason with him...then again...I don't think I even wanted to reason with him." I explained. "Why is that? Did you have a grudge with him previously?" She asked. I sighed...why the fuck is she asking this many questions. "Well...Even when we were close as friends...he always caused trouble, not just with the locals either...but with my...late fiance, as well as a couple of other friends. He was a pain in the ass...when it came time to finally cut ties, I was sorta releaved. However, it still hurt me when I did call it over between us." I explained. "Damn...He was that bad?" She asked me as we were riding down the main road towards Germany. "Yeah...a real pain in the ass if I think about it...but he knew how to have fun." "Then why be friends with him?" She asked. Well...He knew how to have fun and plus, us fighting was a challenge...to see who would win. Only now, this will be the end of it all. At least I hope." I stated.
I breath a sigh of relief once I saw the sign of the German Border closing in. "So, you think you can handle your own Anna?" I ask her. She smiled. "Of course master, you trained me after all...besides, this Kyber...is only a human...whats there to worry about." She baited. "Careful Anna...your huberus can catch up to you." I joked. "Has it caught up to you?" She baited back towards me. "Not yet." I retorted. "We should be nearing the base now..." I stated as we neared the base.
We parked our bikes not to far from the base entrance and made our way towards the back of the base. "I see Kyber...she on top of the tower." Anna whispered to me. "I guess James is in the aircraft. I'll go deal with James...don't look for me." I said as we split up for our targets. I could faintly hear the sentry guns and small drones target Anna and I, but it didn't take long for us to dispatch the automated guns.
It did catch the attention of Kyber and she tried to snipe me but the rounds were cut in half by Anna's swords as I proceeded to enter the the drone carrier. As I set foot on the drone carrier, the aircraft started to take off. Looks like I made it in the nick of time.
Meanwhile...Anna's point of view...
The drone carrier started to move forward on the runway. It was unable to be stopped so I decided to make my push towards the Russian by climbing the air traffic control tower. As I made my way up the side of the tower...she tossed grenades down towards me...I had to dodge each one of them which I did...I made it to the top of the radio tower...Kyber holsters her rifle and pulls out her swords. "Well congrats to the rookie vampire for making it to the top" She exclaimed as she charged at me...once she was close, she swung left...I dodge under and around and lightly pushed her forward by pressing her back with my foot once I was behind her.
She stepped forward and caught herself, her feet barely over the edge. She turned around to face me as I pulled out my katana's. "Listen lady, I'm only going to give you one chance to make this easy on yourself and turn yourself in!" I stated to her. She took a fighting stance and I did the same. "Hard way it is." I muttered. We both charged at each other...our swords collided and clashed. Each time she attacked, I either dodged or blocked with my swords and she did the same.
We pushed away from each other with our swords...she then swapped one of her swords with her pistol and she started shooting at me. I was able to dodge most of the bullets except a few...but those barely scrapped me. I charged at her as she reloaded and before she could load the gun, she was forced to block my swords with both her pistol and her sword. We were now locked in place. "Why do you work for James Murdoc?!" I exclaimed as we were locked in. She scoffed. "Do you honestly believe I work for that psychopath?!" She retorted as she was able to break free and push me away. "Then why help him?!" I asked. She chuckled and finished loading her gun. "Because...somebody had to keep and eye on him...I just happen to have got the short end of the straw!" She answered before she resumed shooting me. I charged her again and in the process, I cut two of the bullets in half with my swords, I then get locked in a block again.
I was able to cut the gun in half to break free but also drawing first blood by cutting her face and giving her a deep scar on her cheek. Some of the blood splattered on my face a little so I licked my lips to get it off. Then, something flashed before my eyes...it was a glimpse of two people...neither of them I recognize but one of them had the soviet flag in the background...the other had a bird the size of an eagle. When the glimpse stopped was when my opponent was too close for me to block. She stabbed me right in the hip and just as she was about to stab me in the head with her other blade, I was able to block it at the last second. I pushed her off of me and I yanked out the blade from my hip.
I drop it suddenly as it burned my hand. I then feel a stinging pain in my hip...her swords must be blessed. "You like the new sensation in you hip? I recently gave my blades a little upgrade." She baited. Just as I was about to attack, a bright light along with the sound of a helicopter engine appears from behind me...she holds up her robotic arm to try and cover the spot light. I took this as my opportunity to attack.
She tried to counter at the last second but was too late...I made a massive cut in her robotic arm, fluids started spewing out as she screamed. She was about to fall and unknowingly I grab her arm as she leans backwards. She smirked and swung at my face...I was forced to let go to avoid being slashed across my face and she dropped. I look down and she didn't hit the ground...she was gone. The helicopter moved and proceeded to search for her.
As the helicopter's spotlight scanned the area for any sign of her, I looked up at the sky at the moon that was full. "Good luck master..." Was all I muttered... "Good luck"
