Who are you if not you
You're not who you think I think you are
You are you, a shining light, a burning star
But then again, what happens to a star
when all its light is burned out
it does not die of old age
There's a gunshot, no slow fade
Don't go out in a gunshot
Grow old by my side
You don't need to be a star
You don't need to be them
You just need to be you
You is enough
So don't become what you think you need to be
I need you to be you, so please don't leave me
Don't wear a mask, or hide that beautiful smile
I need you to be you, let's be us for a while.
