Chapter 3
The teens appeared at the edge of the city with a giant sign that is slightly torn up saying, ‘Welcome to Masqe City’. The city looked dark and gloomy, the citizens wearing dark bland colors; the sky has a dark grey overcast from the factories in the city, home sweet home. One would question: Why on earth would anybody in their right state of mind want to live in a place like this? Most of the people don’t have a choice in the matter, with the economy making a drastic downfall, the worse that’s been seen in the past 30 years, and the crime rate is so high that real-estates can’t help but to make the houses and apartments in this place dirt cheap.
Division looked at Night Hawk with a stern face, “Dude, are you serious?” Division began to walk over to Night Hawk, “We’re finally here! Bad guy kicking good guy ass territory!” Night Hawk started backing up as Division grew closer to him only to back up into five clones of Division, he was surrounded, “Do you really think this is a good idea? Oh wait; I can answer that, YOU DON’T THINK AT ALL!” they all said in unison, Division threw his hands up in the air at his last statement. Night Hawk crouched up in a ball, feeling almost helpless.
Quake sighed and walked over to Division, “Division, that’s enough. This was a group decision.” Division put his arms down to his side and scowled at Quake as his clones returned back into his body. He jerked his shoulder to get Quakes hand off of him and quickly turned around and walked pass Quake, “This is all your fault...” Division mumbled to himself. Quake left eye twitched and quickly turned around, “What was that you said? Cause to me, it sounded like you wanted an ass whooping!” Division turned around just as fast with his hands signaling Quake to attack him, “Go ahead! Make my day!” Division and Quake ran toward each other with their fists cocked back ready to hit one another.
“ENOUGH!” Shiveria yelled causing all of her teammates to focus their attention on her. They were more shocked than anything. Never in the two years of their team have being together has Shiveria raised her voice at anyone. “Division, excuse my language, but you’re both acting like a… Like a… Lazroch!” Division and Quake looked at each other very confusingly, “What’s a ‘lazroch’, dude?” Division whispered to Quake, “Beats me, but from my understanding, I’m guessing she means bitch.” Division gave Quake an annoyed look while Quake just stood there laughing to himself, “And, you! How are supposed to be our leader yet you blow up off of a little comment like that? How long has it actually been since we formed our team? I bet you don’t even know!” Quake stood there dumbfounded opening his mouth to answer but he instantly gets cut off, “Exactly one year, 273 days, five hours and twelve minutes!” The team looked at Shivera with a face of disbelief, all speechless to comment, “This is a huge change for us all! Arguing is the last thing we need!” She yelled out before turning around and putting her hood on, “S-sorry, I didn’t mean to yell.” She said fumbling her fingers together slightly blushing. Rel clapped her hands, “Bravo.” She said in a sarcastic tone, “Not only did we manage to get kicked out of our city but our team is already on the verge of breaking up. Truly, job well done. If you guys don’t mind I would really like to at least step foot into the city before having to blow one of your heads up.” She glared at Division all he did was laugh nervously while rubbing the back of his head.
An hour later…
The team walked down the stairs of city hall, Quake had a piece of paper in his hand giving the team permission to build a base within the city limits. “Dude, is it just me or did the Mayor seem a bit suspicious?” He asked as the team was walking along the sidewalk, “It’s just you.” Rel said in a monotonous tone not even bothering to make eye contact with him. Night Hawk stuck his tongue out at her being childish. Almost instantaneously the ground began to shake causing citizens to fall down, cars to crash into one another and car alarms to go off. After the shaking stopped the team looked over a Quake with a suspicious look, “Wasn’t me.” He said with his hands held up in the air with a look of protest.
