Erik Stevens x Black Librarian PlusSized Reader

Sensual R&B spilled from the speakers that occupied the otherwise quiet library. Drowning out the squeaking wheel of the book cart as it made its way through the aisles. The hushed meeting of your heeled booties against the tiled floors were only loud enough for you to hear as you returned books to their designated areas. You hummed along to whatever song played, nodding gently to the smooth beat. Tuning out the low humming of the vacuum being used towards the front.

Stopping the cart, you reached for the thick African American History book that was stacked atop a few others. It's brown worn cover contrasting your matte, neon green acrylics. You stepped onto the stepping stool with ease, reaching up to the fourth shelf and wedging the book in its rightful place. Stepping off the stool, you adjusted your oversized cardigan before continuing your journey to the next aisle.

You did a little two step as a familiar intro filled the air. One to the song your aunt and mother used to play on repeat. Stopping the cart yet again, you picked up a newer looking small novel as you swayed your hips. You rolled your hips as you squatted to place the book on the last shelf. Singing along with Jill as she serenaded you. "..I really dig your company. Your style, your smile. Your peace mentality.."

That line reminded you of Erik. Making your lips spread into a small smile. The man was as fine as fine could get. His style is what caught your attention, seeing that he could dress his ass off. But that damned smile. That smile was definitely something that had reeled you in, along with his personality. He had a special place in your heart. Though you both were just friends, he'd always hinted that he wanted more. And you, for whatever reason, didn't know how to tell him that you'd felt the same.

Poking out your backside as you slowly stood, you heard a hum of appreciation. "So you do like having me around?" His deep voice teased at the lyrics you'd sang. That charming smile of his exposing the full bottom row of gold hidden in his mouth, matching the glint of his chain. You grinned, throwing a glance at your handsome helper for the night. Erik had practically begged you to let him stay with you, promising that he'd behave himself and help close up. Truth be told, you didn't mind his company anyways.

You gave him a playful eye roll, fighting off a smile as he caught you by your waist. Pulling you to him as he danced a little two step of his own with you. "I mean, you aight. I guess.." You allowed the corners of your glossed lips to lift into a small smile as you shrugged.

"Damn, just aight?" He chuckled, faking hurt feelings. "I thought we was feeling each other. You'n wanna be my princess, princess?." He laughed as your smile got bigger, You gently pushed against his chest, mumbling an amused 'boy, move'. He smiled when you didn't deny it, licking his lips.

His eyes lingered on the switch of your hips as you started pushing the cart. Those long legs strutted in their usual stride. As graceful as a runway model. When you walked out of his sight, he found himself nodding to the beat. But he could hear your voice, starting your soft singing again.

He followed your voice over two aisles, finding you placing a book on the shelf. Resting against the shelf, he took a second to admire you. A head scarf adorned your head, most likely hiding twist you didn't want to take down just yet. He remembered you'd told him that once. You'd started that sway of your hips again, making him chuckle to himself. He couldn't remember how many time you'd played this song around him, but he'd learned enough to sing certain parts.

"Let's take a long walk around the park after dark.. Find a spot for us to spark.. Conversation, verbal elation, stimulation.." He sang lowly, taking your hand and slow dancing. Close and intimate.
"..Share our situations, temptations, education, relaxations... Elevations.. maybe we can talk about Psalms in entirety.."

You'd allowed him to hug you close as he'd mumbled the words. Melting into the safety of his arms. Butterflies swam array in your stomach, chills tingles your spine. Though your eyes had closed, you knew he was looking down at you. When you felt his lips close to yours but no kiss, your eyes opened to him smirking.

You released a breath you didn't realize you were holding, and he noticed it. That'd definitely had given him the answer of whether you like him or not. Which was a relief to him because he liked you too.

Erik pressed a kiss to your forehead before he stepped back, slipping his hands in his pockets. Plans of the dinner he'd had planned for the both of you after you locked up the library floated in his thoughts. He looked at you through the few dreads that had escaped the ponytail he'd wore, seeing the lust clouding your gaze. Tucking his bottom lip between his teeth before releasing it, he smiled again at your daze. "I promised you that I'd behave, and I'd hate break a promise to you.."

You closed the distance between the both of you, looking up at him. Gathering the fabric of his shirt in your fingers. "Or maybe.." Pulling him down to meet your lips, you smiled against his as he groaned. When you'd finally pulled from him, he mumbled a curse as he eyed you hungrily. Wiping gloss from his bottom lip with your thumb, you smirked. "Maybe I'll let you slide this time."
