Porcelain by Moby was blasting through the speakers in my dads car. We have always been big music enthusiasts, so he has some good taste. We left at 7 o'clock this morning, we have now been going for four hours. My dad has been talking for the whole way, but I couldn't really focus on what he has been saying. I've been corrupted in my own thoughts, everything from London, to Chloe, to university, to my mum in Sweden and to my dad who sat just beside me. How often will I be able to see my mum? How will my dad be when he's living alone? Will I find any friends here in London or be alone for the whole summer? Will I get the grades I want in the autumn or will a be a complete failure? Too many questions for someone who has been up since half five this morning. After another 30 minutes of listening to music and listening to my dad babbling on at the same time, we finally arrived. My dad knew someone who lived in London but were going away for the summer. I could rent his flat for £400 for the whole three months. It was a good deal and I got an adventure. I've been working at a café in Bridlington for the past four years, so I have experience from that. So it wasn't that hard for me to get a job at cafe metro.
"Alright Pet, we are here!" My dad interrupted me from my thoughts. He seemed very excited, even more excited than I am. I gave him a small smile which he returned, he has always been very talkative, but we haven't been that close. We grew closer when I moved back from Sweden, but still it wasn't like with my mum and I. But the relationship me and my dad has is more friendly and we joke around.
"I know, you are finally getting rid of me." I say sarcastically. My dad knows my sarcasm, so he just laughs. I let him carry the heavy bag whilst I'm just carrying my weekend bag. It's two set of stairs to get to the flat, when I arrive outside the door I knock two times. When the door opens I'm suprised, I thought it was going to be some old man or something. But there is a boy who opens the door, maybe around my age.
"Hi! You must be Peaches, I'm Louis Tomlinson, the owner of this fabulous place." The blue-eyed boy, called Louis, says.
"Yes, that is me. Nice to meet you Louis." I say with a smile. Louis takes out his hand for me to shake it. A moment after that my dad arrive up the stairs with two bags in his hands.
"These shuffing stairs are going to be the death of me." He says without looking up. When he finally looks up his face turns into a big smile.
"Louis, my boy. It's nice to finally meet you again. It has been ages!" My dad says whilst he goes to hug Louis. Louis just hugs backs and laughs.
"I see you are in good form there Jonas, been going to the gym I see." Louis sarcastically says to my dad.
"And to answer your question my dear friend, I think it has been about six years. I can see that on your wrinkles."
"Wait, how do you know each other exactly?" I finally say something after being quiet during their conversation.
"You see, your dad here used to coach the school football team back in Doncaster. He was an absolute legend. Made our team win the championships back in the days." Louis says.
"But dad, you didn't live in Doncaster?"
"You don't need to live somewhere to work there, Pet. It was just a couple of times a week. It was only an hour drive."
"And as I said, your dad was an absolute legend, so I had to keep in touch with him. I couldn't let my old coach down." Louis announces.
"But anyway, would you like a tour of my palace?" he asks.
"Yeah, sure." I say, even though it's not much to see.
From the hall there is four doors. To the right there is a small kitchen with a dining table. The walls are painted slightly grey and the furniture are all in brown wood. From the window, you can see the other complexes on the other side of the street. There is a car park and at the end of the street there is a small pizzeria. When we entered the next room, which was the living room, you saw a bookcase full of books. The sofa was faded red and it was an arm-chair in the same colour. Separating the two, was a small, round, wooden table. In the right hand side corner there was a door to the balcony. The view was the same as it was in the kitchen. It was a big carpet on the wooden floor which was blue. Walking out from the living room, we went into the bathroom. It was a new bathroom with white tiled floors and walls. The last room was the bedroom. It was rather small, but it still fitted a big queen-sized bed with dark grey linen. To my right it was two different closets and a small shelf. My dad and Louis talked about their old football team, apparently Louis was the team-star. I have never seen my dad talking about something with so much passion, except sailing and skiing.
