Chapter 2 : I wish to love you: "Kitni Hasrat hain hume"

The next day Ball and Rahul set out to go for studies together as they are in the same school. Luckily in the same class and Ball gestured for them to share the same seating arrangement.Rahul again meets Ball's friends, who are at least smiling at him, unlike Ball. 

The lecture goes on till lunch break, where Rahul tags along with them to the cafeteria. Rahul is not a pure vegetarian (Indian version wherein eggs are allowed but none other proteins) but was willing to try few options. Ball and Rahul are in line to pick up lunch.

Rahul: "Will I get vegetarian food here?", Ball: "You don't eat meat? "Rahul: "I can try, I am open, except pork and beef."Ball:" Well shrimps/fish are an option".Rahul:" Sounds great". Turns to the cafeteria lady who is patiently listening to their English conversation and giving weird looks. Rahul says, "One plate of Rice and Shrimps, Khop Khun Krap".

Ball listens to the Thai words for the first time and gives a smirk which indicates a bit of admiration and acknowledgment however quickly turns back to the tough exterior he has been portraying to everyone, as usual.

They get seated for lunch.

Many girls are checking Rahul out. It is unusual for them to check out a darker complexion so much compared to the obsession they have with fair skin. Rahul was uneasy with the attention and felt maybe he is weird.

Rahul's conversation with Ball and his friendsRahul: "Why is everybody staring at me? something on my face or I look weird or ugly?"Decha: "No, I think they are into chocolate milk nowadays" and burst out laughing. All except Rahul and Ball join the laughter. Rahul: "It is embarrassing". Ball: "Are you a toot (Gay) to be embarrassed about this?"Rahul: "What's toot? I am just saying it is weird the way they look at, I can imagine they are ogling at you, you look handsome. I like the lean muscular built body" Champoo:" Are you into guys? "Rahul:" Girls or guys, I am okay". Rahul takes a pause and again says, "As long as they make you feel happy, it is all about the feeling and not about the gender".Mew: "True, I kind of agree with you, as long as it makes your heart beat faster"Champoo and Decha hit at Mew. Champoo says, "heard beat or blood flow to little Mew?"Mew: "you guys are perverts", he smirks and continues, "but yeah blood flow is also important". 

They all laugh except Ball.

Ball feels a bit awkward with the entire conversation; however, he has to reluctantly listen to his group given he has no other choice.

Rahul looks at Ball, "Will you be open to boys?"Ball: "Are you trying to court me? "Rahul: "If I say, will you allow me to? "

Ball takes his time to answer and meanwhile, Rahul says again, "Are you scared?" he moves closer to Ball and continues, "that I will bite you?"

Ball stutters: "Ah, I am fine, what will I be scared of, be careful of the pain you will feel in your ass, I am known for my performance". Ball immediately regretted such outspoken long dialogue shamelessly acknowledging his sex life and the fact that he had entertained a thought in his mind to have sex with Rahul.

Rahul: "Well, I am happy you have allowed me courting, for the matter of pain, we shall see ".

Ball gets up and looks at his friends who have their jaw dropped listening to the entire conversation. Ball says," I am leaving, we are wasting our time, we have lots to do, Are you guys coming to football practice in the evening".All say yes to Ball

Mew asks Rahul, "will you join us? ", Rahul says, "No, I might find the music club and try for an audition".

They all get up during this conversation and carry on with the rest of the day as usual.

We see Ball and his friends enjoying their football match. Here, Rahul met the music club team, got ragged, and gave an introduction. Also, we see him playing Bollywood songs for the entire music club team. All people there including Pixie (Rahul's music club president) who is smitten by the unusual farang looks and his voice.

We see pixie making unusual attempts, almost failed attempts to speak to Rahul. Rahul is not worried about anything and has Ball in his thoughts.

One week goes by and they carry on with their day to day activities. Weekend approaches and Ball's friend ask Rahul out for a weekend gateway. Rahul did not want to visit malls as he was tired of them in the first instance and was keener to explore other areas. Friends together decide that this being one of starting lean periods of their school to go to a beach for a one-night stay. This was agreed by both Rahul and Ball. They also seek permission from their parents and plan this diligently.

All of them reach the beach which is a picturesque location full of young people and has a very upbeat vibrant atmosphere as if there is always a party going on. They enjoy the beach, push each other, and enjoy themselves thoroughly.

There was an awkward moment where Rahul bumps into Ball and they lock eyes. It seemed for Rahul that Ball is his life, his lost love, and something that he was and is determined to get, no matter what. Ball was awkward as usual, but you can see a hint of acceptance in his eyes alone, though he was giving otherwise signals from his body.

They set up a makeshift tent, order snacks/drinks for their enjoyment. It is a typical Bollywood setting outdoor. Imagine the sound of waves, people chatting at night, good food, and friends playing music.

Rahul had his guitar and was playing songs randomly, he played a couple of Thai songs at the request of Mew, Decha, and Champoo. While recalling the earlier conversation, Champoo interjects Rahul and says, "Hey Rahul you are courting our dear friend Ball here, I didn't see much efforts this week, why don't you sing a song for him ?"

Ball looks angrily at Champoo, hits his head, " You are being too nosy, what is your concern in this? "

Rahul says, " Would love to, but to express clearly it has to be a Bollywood song". By this time they were all aware of his liking and were okay to listen to the unknown language called Hindi.

Rahul sings, " Kitni Hasrat hain hume, tumse dil lagane ki", all the time looking at Ball. Ball enjoys attention but is trying his best to hide. Whist Rahul is having not two thoughts about anything. He cares the fuck about the world and for him, the only Ball exists. He finishes the song with the utmost love expressions on his face.

They all enjoyed the song and sensing that this has something to do with the courting, Champoo says, "What's the meaning of this song?".

Rahul says, " It means, I have a dire wish to love you, to come close to you, to bring you to my life, how shall I say to you, how shall I convey my love to you? "He says this all this while looking at Ball. Ball also locks eyes with Rahul.

Ball smiles for the first time at Rahul.

Rahul smiles back and feels this is the happiest moment of his life.
