2. Making A Deal.

After the phone call ended the group sat quietly, wondering what Klaus will ask for in his deal.

"What happened to the woman who helped you escape?" Caroline asked quietly, the first to break the silence.

"What do you care Caroline? Damon fed from you and used you as his personal sex toy remember." Elena screeched before Damon could talk.

"No he didn't Elena, I told you a million times it wasn't Damon." Caoline yelled back at her then faced Damon waiting for him to talk.

"Oh Caroline, you know how to pick up on the big things.

The woman, her name is Isabella, but she prefers Iz or Bella, she started a fire and locked the scientists in the lab.

She opened the cages that were being used and offered all of us her blood, the others drank and ran except me and one other guy.

His name was Enzo, together me and Enzo carried her and helped each other out of the building.

The others had taken too much, she was close to death, I offered to change her she accepted, so Enzo found us some food and I ate then turned her." Damon answered before his phone rang.

Hello, this is Damon. Damon answered, not recognising the number.

I heard you may have a deal for me, one you would be wise to keep. Said a husky British voice.

Yes we want to live, we don't want any death, my friend said a vampire and werewolf had to die, can we help pick those people? Damon asked wondering what this deal would cost.

All I want, is to break this curse, the pain I feel every full moon is extreme, to say the least. I will happily let you help choose the sacrifices. I will happily allow the doppelganger to live. I will not kill anyone, unless it is to protect me and mine. My price is simple, blood bags, not a lot, only five half bags, of the doppelganger's blood, taken at a safe pace and in a safe way. Klaus finished, and waited holding his breath hoping they would agree.

Fine, as long as we use Jules and Katerina as the sacrifices. Elena has agreed to the blood, but it will take a few months. Damon answered.

Klaus agreed to wait six months, but he would be arriving in one month, he wanted to get to know them, and get everything set up.

Damon was surprised, his last comment had been about not being a monster, he just strived to keep himself and his family alive and safe.

The scooby gang started talking about how to get out of the deal, how to save Elena, how to kill Klaus.

"Enough, we made a deal that ensures we all walk away alive, I will be keeping the deal. If you want to break it, then I will make sure Klaus knows it is on you."  Damon yelled standing up angrily.

"Going on and on about me being the problem, the cause of this. That I need to fix it, then I fix it, the perfect outcome for us, and you want to break it. Well fine, break it, and when you're all dead, I'll be the one walking away." Damon added before starting to leave.

"I agree with Damon, I'm going with him, I refuse to put my mom in the path of Klaus's revenge." Caroline said jumping up and leaving with Damon.

They went to the mystic grill and when Damon saw the problem with Matt, he pulled the boy aside and explained everything to him.

Caroline had taken his side, listened and believed, the least he could do, was help her with Matt.

Matt accepted it all easily, Damon made sure he knew everything, about the rogue vampire, and him killing it, he felt bad for the boy when he had to tell him about his sister, but he accepted it.

His good deed done for the day, Damon went back to drinking, his phone buzzed and he looked down and with a smile started texting with the other person.

Caroline had noticed this, and wondered why no one had noticed his text conversations, he always smiled, and answered instantly.

Matt joined her in watching Damon and was surprised, Damon had only shown him the bad boy side, snarky and sarcastic, yet here he was sitting at the bar, texting away, with a soft smile on his face.

The two joined him, holding hands and smiling, Caroline had filled Matt in on the newest drama from that morning and he wasn't surprised that Elena would try and get out of the deal.

Damon sent one last text and put his phone away,  after making sure it was locked so his nosy friends, and brother couldn't get in and see his contact list.
