Chapter 4

The Dogs were still barking like mad so they followed them. It was almost 6pm but here inside the forrest it was getting very dark so they were glad they had the Torches. Officer James called for an Ambulance just in case, as they proceeded to walk, the dogs lost whatever scent they'd found but James told them to continue . Eventually the dogs barked again so they had a closer look and found Blood on the vegetation, James looked at the foot prints and noticed how deep they were as if someone was carrying something heavy.
He's carrying her over his right shoulder, look at the prints, I think she may still be alive as she's still bleeding . He also has a bounce in his step so if he thought he drowned her , the combination of being over his shoulder and the bounce in his walk he could very well of saved her life without knowing it.
Duke looked over at Officer James and said that we can live in hope, but if he already dug a grave for her she'll suffocate.
The other two teams had packed up due to family commitments leaving James, Tyler, Duke and the three from the other team who were now helping them.
The dogs were all over the place and they felt like they were going in circles.
Duke suggests they have a rest and some coffee, they put markers where there at and all the way back to the pond.
James says to Ty that either the killer is doing it on purpose or he's got himself lost .
Lyndy was still scared and sat on the porch waiting.
It was now 12 midnight and they needed to put fresh batteries in the Torches as well. Sarah saw them coming out of the Forrest and went to make coffee.
The other team asked if they could go home. James thanked them for there hard work and for staying longer. He also told them that he thought they were close to finding her.
Officer James went to his car to update the station and Duke and Tyler went to the Porch to see Lyndy.
Sarah came out with coffee for the two officers and themselves.
Lyndy asked Duke if they had found anything or any sign of what happened. Duke held Lyndys hands as he told her what they'd found and the theory james had come up with, Duke knew there was no point trying to lie to her so told her about the Blood, fingernails, blood covered branch, and drowning but also the theory about the killer possibly saving her life unknowingly.
Lyndy burst into tears and Duke held her telling her to have hope. He didn't mention that they hoped he hadn't tried to bury her because if she was alive she wouldn't be for long.

In the meantime Colt had been arrested for Stalking and Assault, they wanted to know what he was doing this Afternoon from 3pm onwards, his alibi was confirmed by his Aunt Val so Colt was ruled out as a suspect. The Officer asked Val if she knew anyone called Dean as Amy had a run in with him 4 years ago.
She explained that he was a Nephew same as Colt but separate families.
She said that was the last time she saw Dean. Val said she'd phone his parents and see if they knew where he was.

Back at the Ranch it was now 3am and they'd left for the Forest again feeling better after a rest and the Torches recharged. They got back to the place where they were and carried on searching.
Tyler immediately realizes that the suspect is searching for something so moves off the track to look for fresh prints, after ten minutes he finds them and calls Duke and James over, they still have one of the dog handlers with them and the dog picks up a scent, using his torch Ty looks to see what the dog has picked up on and notices the blood drops are more consistent meaning Amy is alive and still bleeding but now its faster. They follow the dog all the way to a very large Tree where there's more blood, they were about to fan out when the dog barks again a bit further around the other side of the Tree. There looking around when Duke see's a drop of blood on Top of the dogs head then another drop does the same, they all look at each other then point their Torches up into the tree and see Amy Laying over a very big Tree branch at least over 2 ft wide, lying on her stomach about 40ft up.
James calls in the rescue squad explaining where she is. Tyler starts climbing the tree to see if she's still alive and James phones Lyndy to tell her the've found her Granddaughter, while talking to Lyndy, Tyler shouts down that Amy has a pulse but weak, then starts back down.
There going to need people who know how to get her down safely.
Lyndy gets off the phone with Officer James, looks at Sarah and says SHE'S ALIVE then sobs into Sarah's
shoulder with relief and Sarah sobs too.
30 minutes later and Lyndy and Sarah
see the rescue squad and an Ambulance turn up. The other Ambulance was sent back when they realised it was going to take longer to find her. They all went into the Forrest following the GPS coordinates,
When they turned up and saw where Amy was they were amazed he got her up there.
While they got on with getting Amy down Duke and Tyler scouted the perimeter, it was 5am now and Dawn was breaking when Duke yelled over to Tyler, he'd found a large long Ladder dumped in the undergrowth, he took a photo and sent it to James phone.
By 6am they had Amy down and on a Gurney, Iv set up and her Observations taken. They informed James she was in a bad way as she'd lost a lot of blood, so he phoned for a Medi Flight Helicopter that would be here in 15 minutes or less. The EMT's rushed her out along with Duke and Tyler helping. Duke phoned Sarah telling her to clear for a Helicopter Landing for Amy and they were on there way back with her now. .
Sarah told Lyndy and she ran off to get the staff to get ready with a circle of flares as soon as they see the Helicopter .
Lyndy made her way down to the forest entrance to wait for her Granddaughter.
