"YESSSSSSSS!!"
Screamed Shemar at the top of his lungs as Lakers scored once again.
His long black plaits shaking furiously around his head as he bounced all excitedly.
"Lakers suck and so do you" Moaned Jerome. Shemar smirked at his older brother, he loved winning against him. He loved seeing Jeromes defeated face every time.
He looked out of the window for the first time since they started watching the basketball game.
"Wow look how dark it got" Shemar was so busy concentrating on the game that he didn't hear or see anything around him.
Suddenly there was a loud knock at the door and Shemar and Jerome looked at each other.
"Mum and dads at work and I doubt anyone needs me at this time" Said Jerome with a lazy grin. He would do anything to avoid having to move anywhere. Moving from his bed to the couch was already a struggle. You wouldn't consider him lazy if you looked at him. He was nicely built and tall with short black hair.
There was another loud knock at the door this time sounding like its about to break the door down.
Clearly whoever was on the other side of that door was very impatient.
"Jeez is that the police" Joked Shemar as he went to open the door. But as he opened the door his smile suddenly turned to a frown.
Jason was standing there looking worse than he ever did before, he looked like he's been running and his hair and face looked a mess. Shemar instantly realised that something must be up as Jason nearly collapsed.
"Bro you stink" Shemar pointed out.
"I didn't mean to do it" Jason cried out as he lifted his hand up.
Shemar registered the blood on his hands and at that time knew something horrible has happened. He quickly turned back to see if Jerome was listening and when he was sure he was still busy watching the game, he dragged Jason outside to Jeromes car and shut the door as they stepped inside. He turned on the radio and when he was sure that no one was around he spoke.
"What the hell did you do Jase" Shemar sounded more worried than angry.
"I think he's - d -ea-d" Stuttered Jason and then he broke down crying.
Shemar felt helpless, he never seen Jason cry before, they been best friends for 10 years, Shemar seen Jasons mother dying, he was there when Jasons dad left but never have he seen Jason cry.
Shemar held his head, he new what must of happened, he knew what Jason was capable of and he knew that instant that he killed someone but he wasn't sure why.
"Tell me what happened" Shemar whispered camly.
So Jason told him everything, from his argument with Laurel till the moment he left the guy to die and as he talked Shemar tried to keep his face still.
"Okay, get Kian and come my house. You will sleep with me for awhile you cant go torturing yourself on your own"
"But your mother hates me" Jason said. Ironically it was close to the truth, Shemars parents never approved of Jason, they didn't want their precious son around such upbringing. Shemars mum believed that Jason was a very bad kid and every time Shemar got in slightest trouble, his mom blamed it on Jason. Shemar was a good kid, always focused and like to keep a low profile. But when you hang out with a boy like Jason you bound to get caught up once in awhile. And while Shemar doesn't approve of Jasons ways, he loves him like a brother and he has been always there for him so he sucks it up and leaves it.
"It doesn't matter, i'll talk to her tell her its for our college project or something" Shemar finally decided. He will not leave Jason at his time of need.
There was a long silence as Jason recalled his horrible day.
"Do you know who the guy was?" Shemar finally spoke.
"No" Jason answered in a whisper.
Suddenly Jasons phone rang, Shemar saw Laurels name flash on his phone as Jason pressed reject.
"Why don't you talk to her, tell her what happened?" Asked Shemar.
"She wouldn't understand" whispered Jason as he opened the car door and set off to get Kian.
