Laurel sat there motionless, her eyes felt numb from all that crying, the one person she needed the most right now wouldn't even pick up his phone. She wanted to tell him all about Micheal and how heart broken his death left her. Was Jason giving her the cold shoulder just because she wouldn't introduce him to her family? It sounded so stupid yet she couldn't find a better explanation. Her heart was breaking to pieces. She lost her brother she can't lose her boyfriend too. If he wants to meet her family she will introduce him. Maybe then he will understand why she's acting the way she is and they can forget all about it and go on being in love.
Laurel looked around her room filled with Micheals memories, her eyes sore from all the crying. She cant lock herself in this depressed place forever. So she got up and went out, she doesn't know where she's gonna go, but anywhere than home sounds better,
Her mum didn't even react when she found out Micheal died, she just poured herself another glass of whisky like any normal Tuesday night and sat there staring into space. How can she be so cold and monsterous?
Laurel couldn't help crying again as she walked down the bitterly cold street of Lea Road, he heart felt like its about to pop out of her chest.

Shemar walked out of the store full of chocolate and crisp bags, Jason needed any comfort he can get. It broke his heart to see his best friend so shattered, he wanted to help.
Suddenly he saw Laurel approaching, it was too late to hide from her.
Damn he thought, he already had enough of one depressed person on his shoulders.
"Shemar? Hey how are you" Laurel seemed almost excited to have contact with someone other than a statue of her mother.
"Laurel, its all good all good" It felt awkward standing there in front of this beautiful girl that belonged to his best friend, Shemar and Laurel barely speak, Jason never really hung out with both of them at the same time so it felt strange being there alone together.
The awkward silence followed by a question Shemar dreaded the most.
" Have you heard from Jase? He wont answer my calls" Laurel whispered.
Shemar considered lying, this girl looked so torn apart that he didn't want her upset even more.
"Listen hun, Jase going through some thing tough right now and he's a bit upset and not himself, you know what i mean? So he just needs space, not from you i mean but from everything" As soon as he said that he saw pain flicker through her face, he felt awful.
"I just wanted to let him know im ready for him to meet my mum, when you.., if you see him can you let him know"
With that she started crying and Shemar surprised himself by hugging her, and it felt good holding her in his hands. He couldnt leave this fragile thing on her own.
" you know what, i dont need to be home yet and i have all these snacks enough for tons of people. Wanna come chill with me? Like park of something"
At that Laurels face lit up, she needed someones company so badly, so they set off to the park and as they approached a swing set, Laurel felt strangely comfortable and less sad.
"So Laurel, whats the deal with your family anyways, Jase told me you were having problems about that but I can tell theres something more to it" Shemar spoke as he settled himself on a swing.
Laurel sat herself down next to him and decided she might aswel tell him, Jase will find out himself anyways and she was hoping Shemar might tell him beforehand.
"My mum is an alcoholic, my dad ran away when i was a baby and i think she blames me for it. So she been drinking ever since not caring about us.. I mean me and if she ever met Jase she would just show me up and i dont want him to see that, i know it doesnt sound so bad, but i care what Jase thinks of me, i dont want him to be ashamed of me just because of my mum"
Laurel didnt want to tell him about Micheal, it hurt too much so she just avoided the subject and for the rest of the day they talked about life and it was one of the best days they ever had.
