For the most inspiring 80's movie I would have to say the Karate kid, Why? It's a story about a boy (Daniel LaRusso) who moves knows no one and is getting picked on, so he try's to learn karate but he needs help from Mr. Miyagi, so he slowly works his way up to the top.
