Turns out he is a traitor

(Okay warning ⚠️ I am going to go a little bit off the timeline and a comment by @taekwonono inspired this chapter sorry I haven not updated this story in a while the only story I have not had writers block with is my Cole x Kai story which you should totally check out)

"Okay so we all got a plan," Hiccup starts to the riders and the ninja. After one day leaving two days for them to accept the deal Hiccup called them all for a meeting. Wu had enjoyed learning with the riders and the riders were all embarrassed they couldn't beat a old man older than their grandparents. "Great what's the plan?" Kai asks eagerly. "First off I have gotten some news from trader Yohan that they are apparently planning something big once they get ahold of you again, but he does not know the details of it. The plan is since trader Yohan kindly offered to keep Kai away somewhere safe while we pretend to agree to the trade and get the tea back," Hiccup explains. "Or destroy it as long as they don't use it is enough I have more to get back to Ninjago and I know how to make more if needed," Wu adds in. "So wait?" Kai asks getting up from where he was sitting next to Lloyd. "While you all are having fun beating up hunters who I am still pissed at I am hiding like a coward with a guy who talks more than Jay?" Kai asks hating the idea of being kept out of battle. "It's the safest option," Hiccup assures. "They know this enemy Kai follow his plan," Wu said wisely. Kai grumbles but does not say anything else about it and sat back down.

A hour later Trader Yohan pulls up at the docks. "Aww young fellow it is good to see you are well," Yohan said seeing Kai. "You sure this is the only option?" Lloyd asks not liking the idea of letting Kai out of his sight. "Yes it is," Hiccup answers. "Stay safe Kai," Nya urges her big brother. "I will," Kai said. "Don't do anything reckless," Wu said. "I will," Kai answers with a cocky smile. "Kai he's serious," Lloyd said with his arms crossed. "I'll be fine green bean," Kai promises and kissed Lloyd on the cheek before boarding Yohan's boat. With a wave they quickly sailed off while the rest of the team got the next phase of their plan ready.

Meanwhile Kai had only been with Yohan for about half a hour and was already willing to try and jump in the ocean. The guy somehow talks more than Jay does and is a lot more ridiculous. "So out of curiosity can you combine dragon fire?" Yohan asks. "Let me try," Kai said. He held out a palm and focuses then he made a fire that was a combination of most of the dragons he's seen. "Excellent job," Yohan said with glee, but Kai saw something off in his green eyes something else.

Another few hours passed and Kai decided to ask. "So where are we going?" He asked the merchant. It was a moment before Yohan answers. "Somewhere I must go to make a very important trade," he said and again Kai got that feeling something was not right. "What are you trading?" Kai asks looking around at all the crates he owned. "Something very unique and valuable it will make me very rich indeed," Yohan said with a smile. Kai suppresses a shiver something just was not sitting right with him.

"It has been a long day why don't you go below deck and have some pleasant dreams?" Yohan suggests. "Yeah maybe that would be a good idea are you okay by yourself up here?" Kai asks. "My boy I have been sailing on my own for many moons in many storms I shall be fine I will wake you up when I reach the place of trade," Yohan said. Kai nodded and went below deck to take a nap.

He slept for about six hours when he was awoken to the docking of the ship. He rubs his eyes and yawned stretching as he got up. Well tried to he found his arms tied together with rope same with his ankles. Kai listened and heard voices up above that chilled him to his core.

"Yes I have the boy and he can do as we want," Yohan's voice said from above.

"Perfect," Ryker's voice said.

Kai quickly burned away the ropes holding him and heard footsteps above so he hid in one of the crates. When Ryker and Yohan came down with several other hunters carrying chains Yohan was furious to see the burned away rope since the sleeping flower he gave Kai while he was asleep should have lasted longer. Ryker sniffed the air and smelled the smoke which means he was still close.

"Well then guess we will just have to back out on the deal," Ryker said. "But Ryker I can find him again it won't be too tricky to trick those stupid dragon riders again. I have been doing it since they were measly kids," Yohan said in a confident cocky tone. "Well maybe something in these crates will do," Ryker said than ripped off the lid of the closest crate to reveal Kai hiding inside it. Before Kai could use his powers he was tackled and had chains secured around his neck and wrists.

Kai glares at Yohan who did not even flinch. "Jay was right you really are a traitor," Kai spat spitting in Yohan's face. "I am many things my boy and you will aid in the destruction of many," Yohan promises. "I will never help you," Kai said. Ryker grabbed Kai's chin roughly. "Oh I think you will," Ryker said. "How no matter what you do to me I will never help you," Kai repeats. "Well we are meeting your friends tomorrow I'm sure having one of them in harms way will help you see things our way. I have seen first hand how you care for the green one," Yohan said and Kai's eyes widened. "Don't you dare touch any of them!" Kai yells as the hunters dragged him away. "We have been keeping your cell nice and cold for you," Ryker said with a laugh as Kai continues to struggle. When they threw him in the cage and left harsh reality settled in and Kai was gripped with fear as he curled in on himself.

He was alone in the dark cave again being used and treated worse the a wild animal. "Lloyd please help me," Kai whispers before crying himself to sleep curled up in a ball.
