Kaycee's POV

"Kaycee, for the 5th time, I told you I'm fine." Sean chuckled, sitting down on the couch.

"I'm going to go to my place so I can shower and get some clothes. I'll be back in 15." Nat announced. "Text me when you're about to come back." Sean said sternly. She silently saluted him and excused herself. I knew he was doing it for safety reasons. It was a quarter until 11 and our neighborhood got a little sketchy in the late hours of night.

"I'm going to get you some ice." I announced shakily. I was concerned for Sean. Even though it wasn't my first time seeing Sean get into an altercation, it was the first time where my friends were physically trying to hurt each other. "Come here. Now." He said, patting his hand on the cushion beside him.

I obliged, shuffling over to my boyfriend. "Congrats, I'm 100 years old. Sit please." He said sarcastically. I rolled my eyes and slapped his shoulder softly. "Shut up, genius." I sighed, leaning back into the couch. Sean rotated his body toward me, scooting closer.

"What's wrong, love?" He asked softly. His fingers brushed the few strands of hair that dangled out of my face. "I'm sorry. If Nat and I just minded our business, you two never would've argued and you wouldn't have gotten hurt." I apologized, running my hand down my face.

"Christ, Kaycee. Look at me." Sean groaned, slamming his hand on the couch. I obeyed his wish, slightly startled. "I'm okay, Kayc. Being locked up in that room, Josh and I would've found something to argue about, whether it be about our relationships, escaping, or simply each other's presence. You both had good intentions and I love you both for that. We're like brothers. We argue, we fight, we make up and get it over within two days or less."

"Yes, but-" I started but Sean cut me off.
"But nothing. We're fine, baby." He said before pecking me on the lips softly, grabbing my chin lightly. His gentle touch set me on fire. Every action of his, there was love and care behind it. It made my heart skip a beat and my stomach flutter until I almost felt sick.

"You have a bedroom, you know?" We heard a familiar voice say. I looked up to see my brother crossing his arms with a smirk on his face. "And unfortunately, you have a key." I muttered with a sarcastic smile.

"Hey, Dev." Sean greeted, shaking his head in amusement at our banter. "Hey, Lew. I hope my sister isn't being a pain in the ass." He said, patting Sean on the back as a greeting.

"Eh, I still love her anyway. She's adorable." Sean shrugged with a light smile on his face. The way he said the word "love" so easily made me blush. There wasn't any hesitance or restraint that he put on himself because of my brother. He didn't have a care in the world of who knew how he felt about me.

"Yeah, I guess." Devon said, patting my head. "By the way, your friends are outside." He informed us while walking to the kitchen. My eyebrows furrowed in confusion, Sean and I sharing a perplexed look.

"That's weird. They should still be at the party." I said, standing up to open the door for them. Right when I opened the door, I was met with Jadyn and Taylor's faces. "Hey, I thought you guys weren't coming until later." I said, letting them in. By their faces, I knew something was wrong.

"What happened?" I asked incredulously as I saw Julian's face. There was a look of distress in his eyes. "Where's Sean?" He asked.

I pointed in the direction of the living room. Julian ambled his way through the open space that led to my living room. The rest of them walked past me, giving me a brief greeting on the way in.

After getting us all a snack and having them settle on the floor in my garage, I decided to break the silence. "So...does anyone want to tell us why all of you are on mute tonight?"
