The Trial [] 12/12 []

"You know...I'm nervous. Not as nervous as I was for my mother's trial, but still nervous. I haven't been in a plane since we moved here like...I dunno. Over ten years ago."

The three are waiting by their respective gate. Despite the fact that it's six AM, there are more people wandering around the airport than expected. Max guessed it would be near empty, but apparently there were several individuals and families needing to leave early in the morning - work meetings? Family emergency? Running from the law? Fifteen-hour flight to Romania? Who knows.

Max is dressed comfortably, donning sweatpants and one of Mal's shirts. They'd snatched a few of them as they were packing. They miss him and Abby already. Homesick and they haven't even left - they definitely wouldn't have been able to move permanently to Romania. Hell, sometimes they question how well they do when they move in with Cosmin. If they move in with him. Will they? Is that what's happening? They aren't sure of anything right now...they're much too tired. They plan to sleep on the plane.

"We'll be fine." Matt's eyes are glued to his phone. Texting Draco, probably.

Max nods. Their feet are tapping against the floor. Cosmin pats their arm. Max contemplates leaning against Max, but then considers leaning against Cosmin, and decides to do neither. They take out their own phone to distract themselves, resisting the urge to already text Mal.

They sat in silence for several minutes before boarding was announced. Max hadn't taken a close look at their ticket beforehand, it just didn't seem very important and they were occupied making sure that they had everything they needed, so they were pleasantly surprised to find that they're in first class. Their initial shock and confusion was clear and noticed but not mentioned.

If this man could pay for two first class tickets for a 15 hour flight (Matthew insisted on paying for his own ticket), imagine what's waiting for them in Romania.
