In the Earth Warriors camp, Kyoshi continue her earthbending training with Kenji. They have an intense training. She attack Kenji with many cube rocks and he dodge it. And when he about to attack her, an earth pillar suddenly rose below him which he dodge it.

While he dodge the pillar, Kyoshi bend a small pillar b Kenji’s foot, making him falling backwards. Kyoshi is about to punch him in the face but she stop it in the tip of Kenji’s nose.

“You definitely excel… You’ve improved so much… I must say a few training more, then probably you will become a future earthbending master” –Kenji said.

“Thanks, I couldn’t done this without the brotherhood” –Kyoshi thanked him while helping him to stand up.

“Let’s take a break”

While eating, Kyoshi saw a batch of Earth Warriors preparing for leaving. So she ask him about it. Kenji told Kyoshi that the Earth Warriors have been daily given a task/mission to render their services to a village that needs help such as supply support and protection against bandits or anything.

Kyoshi ask Kenji about why he joined the Earth Warriors, does he really want to serve whole Kingdom? Suddenly, Kenji’s face became serious. He told Kyoshi that he really want to serve the Earth Kingdom but the real reason why he joined the Earth Warriors is “for his family to be able to survive the severe poverty in lower ring in Ba Sing Se when he becomes a Royal Earthbender Guard.”

Kyoshi didn’t expect his reasons why he joined the Earth Warriors. Kenji asks her back. She told him the reason why he join the group is to become stronger in order to save everyone who needed her help especially her village who she consider as her family.

The two seems to understand each other for having almost the same objectives in joining the Earth Warrior.

“Soon. I believe we will become one of the Royal Earthbender Guards” –Kenji promised.

In Ba Sing Se, the Royal Earthbender Guards are the people who pledge themselves to the Earth King or Queen even it cost of their own lives. But before to become a Royal Guard, you must first join the Earth Warriors and take a journey around the Earth Kingdom and serve every village who needs help in order to prove yourselves that you are loyal and worthy to the King and Queen. (Shown in the First Picture)

The benefit of being a Royal Guards is that you will be able to live a better life in the middle ring with your family so that many of the people who join Earth Warriors are probably from the lower ring, for example: Kenji.
