-Sam-
I can't say I didn't want to go, I did it's just tonight wasn't the night I wanted a mask to itch at my face as I have to deal with social interactions. I'd promise Corey, it being his masquerade ball.
Once I arrived I seemed to find my friends quicker than expected, we all at some point were drinking champagne and having a few horderves and such here and there. The time was great, I'd forgotten about the single itch that burned at my cheek.
As we all stood there, my eyes glanced around the room to see a man sitting at a table in isolation with a glass of scotch accompanying him.
He was intriguing, from what I could see. He had brunette hair, if he were to stand I'm sure he'd be taller than I. His shoulders were broad, his jawline was strong, and you could see the bit of muscle that was being held captive in his clothing.
"Corey, who's that?" I asked, motioning to the stranger nonchalantly.
He turned and looked, a few of our friends doing the same, and turned back. "Cole, or Colby, Brock. CEO of Brock Industries. Rich as hell, man." He and the others chuckled, averting their attention to something else.
The man, Cole, turned his gaze to meet mine. A smirk danced on his lips, intriguing.
The night carried on, eventually I'd decided on going home and made my way out of the ballroom and to the outside. Walking down the steps of the large building, I was stopped by a voice behind me.
"Leaving so soon?" I spun on the step I stood on, Cole stood there gazing down at me with his hands tucked neatly into his pockets. "I didn't even get to introduce myself."
I gulped, "My friend, Corey, told me who you were. It kind of stopped me from approaching you." I admitted, I myself being surely too broke to coversate with Cole.
"May I ask why?" He said, his voice being deep and masculine.
"W-Well, you're a little 'up there' on the social status whereas I'm not." I explained, he hummed and walked down the steps till he reached me.
"Colby." He said, holding out his hand. That's what Corey said, 'or Colby.'
I took the hand, smiling back. "Sam."
"Beautiful name." I felt the heat rush into my cheeks, I'm sure he noticed as well. "Cute." He voiced, then he very obviously checked me out. "I was just leaving for home, the place being a little lonely I find I'm asking you to join me." He asked as he held his slightly bent arm out.
I thought for a moment, this man being a complete stranger but something wouldn't let me say no. I placed my hand in the crook of his elbow, he led the way to the valet as his car was brought.
A BMW i8 was pulled up, I tried not looking so flabbergasted as the doors were opened and Colby led me to the passenger side. I slid in, as he closed the door I dropped my jaw and looked around.
He'd joined eventually, getting in the drivers seat and chuckled before starting the car and driving from the ball.
Arriving at his house, mansion rather, we entered and once again I looked around in pure glee. He led me to a large living room, one area having a bar which he went behind and began making a drink. "Martini?" He asked, not taking his eyes off what he was making.
