in need of a distraction

After the catastrophic events of yesterday, there was nothing that seemed more tempting than hiding away in her room. She didn't exactly look forward to facing the world. Nothing bad had happened. It was innocent teasing, but she couldn't help but let her mind wander to the seconds before they were interrupted. How it seemed like he was enjoying it. His hands on her hips, the grip tightening as she played with his hair.

Hoseok's word played in her mind, over and over. "I would appreciate it if you didn't hang out with my friends. They are douchebags. Even Jimin. He seems harmless, but he is the worst of them all"

Eun Won made a promise to him. She had told him she wouldn't mess around with his best friend, but the promise seemed to be harder to keep than she had estimated. Her phone started buzzing again. It was Ha Na. She had been calling nonstop since yesterday. Her guess was that Hoseok had updated her on the matters of yesterday. She wasn't in the mood for Ha Na's confrontation. Not yet.

Her curiosity got the best of her, and she reached for her phone. It was blowing up. Ha Na had spammed her, as well as several other girls in their school. After further investigation, it seemed like most of her messages were from people she never had interacted with before. Why were they sending her messages? She skimmed through the wave of messages. Her eyebrows knitted as she saw Jimin's name in every message. What was going on?

Her mind wandered to the picture. Hadn't Hoseok deleted it? Was that the cause of this endless disturbance? The messages she was receiving weren't exactly of the nicest kind.  It was safe to say that his little fan club had no problem "standing up" for their boy. She let out a huge sigh.

Eun Won studied her reflection in the mirror. Her fingers ran over her lips. It wasn't like the messages had bothered her to the extreme, but it was in no way her dream situation. She would rather be pretty invisible, like before.

It seemed clear what she had to do. She had to stay away from Jimin. She couldn't risk getting mobbed by his precious little fan club. She had seen them in action before. They were not the type of girls you wanted to cross paths with, especially not when associated with Park Jimin. It had never been a problem before, but now they saw her as a threat. That was the difference.

She patted her own shoulder. "Fighting. You can do this, Eun Won"

When she entered school, all eyes were on her. She had seen the picture. Someone had sent it in their class group chat. She didn't know what to do or say, not that it would change anything. The picture was steamy. Goosebumps traveled up her arms at the thought of it.

Ha Na had agreed to meet up with her at her locker. Hopefully without Hoseok. It wasn't that Eun Won was directly embarrassed to face him. They had talked it out yesterday. They even hugged. She was grateful for his help. Even though his shitheads of friends managed to do more damage than they had intended. It seemed like they had posted it in a story online, while Hoseok only deleted it from their actual phone thinking that was it.

Ha Na waved at her. Eun Won felt a wave of relief through her body when seeing her best friend. "God, I thought you would bail on me" Ha Na wasn't far off with her suspicion. She had thought about it, but then she had come to the conclusion that skipping school wouldn't change anything. How was it that one accidental like had caused all this action and intrigue in her life?

"Mhm, it was close" She opened her locker and grabbed her books.

"I know you might not be in the mood, but there is this party tonight. Do you want to go? I thought it would be a good way to forget the jealous girls and have some fun" Ha Na looked excited. Eun Won knew by the looks of her face that she wanted to go. Maybe it wasn't that bad of an idea. She could use some fun, and what was more fun than getting drunk and dancing to shitty music.

Eun Won patted her friends back. "I'm in"

Ha Na smiled from ear to ear. It kind of scared Eun Won. It looked like she was planning a big scheme. She would rather not know, but she had doubts it would stay that way.

"Okay, let's get ready at my place. We can leave directly after school"

Eun Won nodded in agreement. "Sounds good"

After endless outfit changes, Eun Won settled for a tight black dress. She couldn't bare changing one more time. Even though she would feel much more comfortable in a pair of jeans. Ha Na had pushed her into her chair, demanding to curl her hair. Eun Won needed a change. Her hair was always the same. She gave in to her friend's demand. She hoped the hair gods would be in her favor.

Two hours later, and a lot of arguing, she was ready for the party. Eun Won almost didn't recognize the girl in the mirror. She couldn't see much of herself. Her hair was curled in big locks, and she was wearing makeup. She never wore makeup. And, she was wearing a dress. The girl with a massive love for jeans was wearing a dress. Ha Na sneaked up behind her, hugging her friend. "You look gorgeous"

"I will be back soon. I just have to use the bathroom"

Eun Won closed the door to Ha Na's room behind her. She could have used the toilet beside Ha Na's room but opted for the one closer to Hoseok's. She couldn't understand her own actions. Earlier today she was hoping she wouldn't meet the boy and now she was sad she hadn't.

She stopped outside his bedroom, lifting her hand to knock the door. Her fist lingered in the air for a second before pulling the arm back.

"Looking for me?"

Shivers ran down her back. He had seen her. Talk about awkward. She spun around to face Hoseok. He was standing behind her. He was wearing a loose shirt and his hair was styled so his forehead was visible. In other words, he was on his top game.

"Uhm, yeah. I just wanted to thank you again"

"Well, I wasn't much to help after all. Didn't know they were stupid enough to post it online" Hoseok scratched his neck. He looked somewhat nervous.

"You were to more help than you think, Hoseok. Really"

Hoseok smiled. "How many times have I told you to call me Hobi? You always sound so serious when saying my name"

"Well, I am just used to it. I have always called you that" Hoseok inched closer. Eun Won took a few steps back but soon felt her back pressing up against the door to his room. It was cold, and hard against her shoulder blades. He inched closer. Hoseok leaned in to whisper in her ear. "You look gorgeous tonight. Can't wait to see you later cutie" He winked at her. A freaking wink. What was he thinking? And with that, he left.

She was standing there speechless. He talked about Jimin being all that bad, he wasn't exactly any better.

"Eun Won, did you drown in the fucking toilet or are you coming back anytime soon?" Ha Na popped her head out of her bedroom door, looking at her best friend. Thankfully she hadn't seen her with Hoseok. That would have been awkward. "I'm coming"
