Torrie was casually following Alfred down the hall to the study. She glaced around, other states were in the smaller rooms. Doing paperwork and even schoolwork. As dry as that sounds.

The main attraction was the huge study with large double doors, behind was Alfred's desk. Torrie had no doubt in her mind that the dark wood surface was covered in white stacks so tall it looked as if the desk was a tall white mess.

She easily peaked in and found Alfred signing paper after paper, the pile on his left significantly larger than the one on his right.

And there he sat, for hours. Signing paperwork, sheet after sheet. The pile slowly deminshing. Torrie was eating potato chips a bit bored, and a bit worried because he hasn't taken a break once.

Cassidy(Colorado) walked over, she was covered in a layer of frost yet she was also on fire. She was acting as if this was a normal thing, Torrie regards her before her eyes widen.

Fire...Torrie's afraid of fire. To the point she abandoned her chips and curled up in a panic attack. Her breathing getting worse.

Cassidy didn't mean to scare her, she was just going to check on her and Alfred then maybe due some paperwork. She was already covered in frost and that was fine, but the fire randomly started just before Torrie saw her.  She sighed and started to beat herself up a bit.

She knocks on the door, trying not to burn it. Alfred's pen pauses before being set down entirely. He stands and opens the door to find two of his daughters.

One on fire, the other in a panic attack. Knowing Cassidy's love of fire he choose his battle and started comforting his other daughter.

Cassidy sighed sadly and turned to leave, she'd already messed up. Torrie grabs her ankle that wasn't on fire in a silent request to stay. Cassidy sighed but stood there, enjoying the pain of the burn.

Alfred was quietly comforting the girl in quiet Spanish that the viewers could barely pick up. She calmed a bit quickly, she was more used to fire. Mostly because her sister has a fire kink-(Anyone else read that story or no-)

Cassidy, well she was still on fire but she wasn't all that concerned. Especially when she started playing with the fire a bit with a slightly creepy smile.

Torrie calmed significantly, she looked at Alfred who smiled at her, comforting her more. That smile really does brighten anyone's day.

"Are you okay Cassidy?" Alfred asks looking at one of his many daughters.

" Yeah ma, I'm cool. Well...I guess cool is and isn't the right word." Cassidy picks at some of the frost on her hand. She was still on fire I remind you.

"Will you two be okay? I have to finish these by tomorrow morning so I really should get back or I'll never finish." Alfred said guiltily rubbing his neck

"They expect you do do all that in a span of 24 hours?" Torrie asks a bit in shock

"Um yeah? Apparently no one else is gonna do it. And maybe, if I do it then this country might live up to it's ideals..." Alfred says, the self-blame obvious.

"Mama, please. You're not to blame, it's the stupid politicians running the place that are to blame. It has never been, and never will be your fault." Cassidy says

Alfred rubs his neck again, he smiles nerviously. He then laughs at himself a bit. Torrie and Cassidy were both a bit worried.

"You okay ma? Do we need to call Papa?" Cassidy said

"NO! No, I should get back to work. " Alfred stands and tries to discreetly wipe his eyes.

"We should call him." Torrie said and Cassidy nodded in agreement. The fire finally stopping.

"Do it, your better at it." Cassidy said and Torrie smirked.

"Russia will only marry America when lobsters sing!" Torrie says in a perfect British accent. A actual thing he said soon after the Cold War.

Ivan appears out of nowhere and starts making weird supposedly lobster sounds of singing. Cassidy snorts and high fives Torrie.

"You called?" Ivan asked

"Something's up with ma, I think he's doubting himself for the countries problems. Again." Cassidy said

Ivan frowned, he looks at the now closed study door. He then looks at the two states.

"He also hasn't stopped to take a break from paperwork for a long time." Torrie added, Ivan's frown increased and he snook into the study.

"Come Fredka, you are now kidnapped." Ivan declared, throwing Alfred over his shoulders much to the blonde's suprise.

"But Vannnnnnnya, I'm buuuuusy." Alfred conplains.

"Nyet, you've been kidnapped. You are at my mercy da." Ivan states

"Ugh...Guess if the boss asks I was kidnapped all evening." Alfred grumbles

Ivan takes the grumpy American downstairs and throws him on one of their comfier couches. The others appear with popcorn and soon after a movie starts.

Alfred curled into Ivan's side, watching the movie and picking at the popcorn a bit. Not really eating much.

Ivan's arm was around him pulling the American close, Torrie was eating potato chips as she watched the two with a smile.

Alfred's sleepless nights were beginning to catch up midway through the movie and his eyelids get heavier and heavier.

He falls asleep completely, hugging Ivan like the big teddy bear he is. Ivam watches the movie, he knew Alfred was asleep so he didn't move but he did watch the movie.

The other states cooed slightly, mostly Torrie and Cassidy. The movie ended and almost immediately, Alfred's eyes pop open and he blinks a few times to banish the tiredness welcoming him back to the comfort of sleep. He instead got up and stretched before walking off.

"Where are you going?" Ivan asks

"I have so much work to do." Alfred says before disappearing to the study. Where the paperwork lay half done.

Torrie locked eyes with NYC, she nodded slightly and he adjusts his headphones in the agreed upon signal. The shift change had officially occured.

A/N- I haven't slept at all, I want to cry and/or die, and school is running me ragged. But, have an update because I wanted nothing more but to write fanfiction when I knew I couldn't.
