Twelve-year-old was kidnapped from her junior high school, raped, and killed by Bundy. Her body was later found near the Suwannee River State Park.
Later that month, Bundy was pulled over when an officer noticed him driving erratically—it was his last official run-in with the law. After running his plates, the office discovered the car was stolen and arrested Bundy.
After several , Bundy was eventually convicted on the murders of Levy and Bowman, as well as three counts of attempted first-degree murder, and two counts of burglary, according to . He was sentenced to death twice for both murders, and later sentenced to death again for the murder of Leach.
His occurred on January 24, 1989, by way of electric chair. Shortly before his death, he confessed to a number of the crimes above that he had previously denied. There are even more women who are thought to be , but because there are some other suspects in these cases, Bundy's involvement isn't confirmed. Sadly, no one will ever know exactly how many crimes Bundy really committed.
