Chapter 9: Stay with me

Asia P.O.V.

Intercom: Asia Solivin please report to the Principals office, again Asia Solivin, report to the principals office please.

I was so shocked hearing my name being called through the intercom. All eyes were on me, ebarassing. Girls were gossiping, boys were laughing and 'oooing' me as I passed them by. I saw Mimi with a couple students. "Asia, what's going on?" she asked.

"I don't know it could be a couple things"

"Like what?"

"don't worry about it"

"Look, if I'm your friend, now is the time to start talking"

She was right, I motioned my hand for her to walk with me, "Ok but you can't tell nobody" I whispered.

"Of course not" she whispered back.

"ok on the first day of school, some dudes on the football team tried to rape me", her eyes widened in shock, "That dude you saw the other day, he fought them off for me, he saved me"

"The tall cutie pie ?"

"Yaas, and now they're looking for him, I can't let him go to jail for this"

"Hmm..I think I have an idea" she said, "I want you to just go to the principal's office"

"Real clever..." I sarcastically said.

"Just go do it you'll see" she said as she rushed off"

There was really nothing that she could do at this point.

When I got there I saw Rob, one of the boys from the locker room, sitting outside the office with his parents. We made eye contact but didn't say anything to each other. I walked in where I saw Mr. Mallard at his desk. Mr. Mallard always gave me the chills. He was tall, bald, old and dark-skinned. He always wore a suit but looked so stressed out and tired. "Oh good, Asia you're here, have a seat, I'll be with you in a moment". I've never really had to talk to the principal so I had no idea what he wanted with me. I knew that boy Rob was outside, so I figured it had something to do with that incident. I could hear him in the next room talking on the phone, "How much time does he need to recover?...Well I'd like to meet with him and the rest of the boys all at once so we could get to the bottom of this situation, goodbye". Principal Mallard came back in the room, sat down, and let out a big sigh, "So Asia, I suppose you know why you're here right?"

"um...not really", I said.

"There has been some news going around that something happened with you and a couple other male students in the boy's locker room. Four boys were injured, one of them hospitalized because he suffered blurry vision in the right-eye and a broken nose from a punch. Now, while all that is very unfortunate, I know what these boys are like. They sell drugs, they cuss, walk around with their pants hanging low to seem 'big n bad'. They aren't the best academically but quite frankly, I don't even think they try. So when I get a call that they've been involved in some trouble, I'm not surprised. However, when I hear that miss Solivin is involved, a girl that never gave me any trouble, excels in her classes, and works hard..I don't expect that. I'm on your side, and I want to hear your story "

I didn't know what to do, if I told him the truth, he would want to know how I got out of there with no injuries, while they were beaten up so badly. I wanted to protect J more than anything. "What have you heard?" I nervously asked.

"Right now, I just want you to tell me what happened"

My heart started racing, I had to think quick. "I'd rather not say right now, I don't feel comfortable about it"
