I ran up to the owlery like I did so many times before. This time I knew that the owl would be there because I had helped Mcgonagall send the letters out yesterday. As I ran I noticed two redheads turning the corner whispering "We're so gonna get her this time."
I paid better attention to the hallway after that just noticing the tripwire in time to step over it then call to the twins who were watching from around the corner "Bug off you'll never get me! This prank war has gone on for three years and not a scratch on me when now.." I trailed off as I pointed above them and gave a salute. they both looked up then back down at me sighed and were covered in 50 gallons of honey I had taken from the kitchens earlier.
I started to run off again when they yelled "Mark my words we will get you next time!" I just rolled my eyes and laughed while running away.
I had no other troubles until I got to the base of the tower and found Professor Mcgonagall standing there waiting for me. "I knew you'd get here eventually, Katrina, your father would like to see you in his office." "But..." "No buts missy, he wants to discuss your trip to Diagon Alley." I sighed and started to walk next to her. She noticed my annoyance and added "The owl was sent to his office and should be there soon." I perked up immediately standing taller as I lengthened my strides. Soon enough we reached the gargoyle blocking Dumbldore's office and I said "Hello, will you please let me in?" I stroked the bird-like beak twice and it nodded then sprang to the side. Dumbledore had enchanted the gargoyle specially so that I didn't have to remember the password while I was little and he never took it off.
We walked up the stairs and went to the door. I could hear two voices talking in the room, the first one sounded suspiciously like Hagrid, and the second one sounded like Dumbledore. "I should go get 'Arry. We'll need ter leave righ' af'er..." "Hagrid I believe that Katrina is at the door and she will be going with you to retrieve Harry." Mcgonagall opened the door and I quickly took in the scene.
Hagrid was sitting in an enlarged red armchair that was big enough for him. While Dumbledore was sitting at his desk with Fawkes on his perch. My hair was pretty much the same color as Fawkes's feathers. Dumbledore's all knowing blue eyes met mine and I blushed. He had a hint of amusement in his eyes telling me that the elves had told him that 50 gallons of honey had went missing. I heard the flapping of wings and rushed to the window, I was given multiple curious glances signalling that no one else had heard it. I was used to it by now because it became a regular thing for me to hear things that others didn't. Like earlier today I could hear the twins whispering from all the was a cross the hallway, but the weird thing is even though I had asked my father about this multiple times he would never tell me just saying "You will learn in due time"
I threw open the window and let the little owl in. I politely took the letter from his leg then gave him some owl treats that I always kept in my pocket. I turned it so that the back faced me and I was met with the familiar Hogwarts crest, the four houses symbols with a large 'H' in the middle. I had grown up here and I was thrilled to finally get my letter. I turned it back to the front and read Mcgonagall's loopy handwriting.

I then opened the seal and read the letter inside. I had helped write some of them so I had it memorized by heart.
I walked over to Hagrid and said "You were saying that we need to go, but I need a minute to pack." He nodded as I ran into my room and pointed my hand at everything that needed to go into my trunk. I had been able to wandless magic for a long time now so I used it at any point that I could. Recently I had figured out how to do wordless magic also and that came in handy. I sighed as I realized that I would probably never sleep in this room again during the school year but I vowed to myself that I would stay in my common room the entire time. I looked to my left and saw the mini library that Dumbledore had let me collect through the years. It was nothing compared to the library that Hogwarts owned though. I had read every single book in that library except for the ones in the restricted section. My library was really only my favorites.
I sprinted back down the stair and announced "I'm ready." Hagrid stood up and took me down the stairs and through the castle. It took a long time and then we ad to walk all the way across the grounds to his motorbike. Each step tied a new knot in my stomach. This was the first time that I had ever left Hogwarts and I should be excited, but I was dreading leaving my home. Hagrid's big black beard bounced as he chuckled. "What's so funny?" I asked him. He didn't answer for a moment then smiled at me saying "Even with your sight and hearing you failed to notice one thing." I looked at him then saw the small outline of a letter in his coat pocket. I gave him a quizzical look and he just shook his head then stated "This is the flying bike." I looked at it in wonder. There was a small side car that was for me to sit in. I smiled at Hagrid, climbed in, put the helmet on, then we were off. It was getting fairly late into the night and as we talked I found myself nodding off into a peaceful sleep.
