For the past couple years, life hasn't been the same. What I mean by that is everyday it gets harder to get out of bed, harder to stay positive, harder to smile. It gets harder to eat, sleep, laugh. Normal everyday things that people do. Everything is harder.

The paper in my sketch book was filled with a hand reaching out to a dark figure standing at the edge of the woods. I didn't even realize I started to draw until I looked down. I was sitting at my desk with headphones in and a pencil in my hand.

"Y/n, I'm home!" Charlie called from downstairs.

I yelled reply and stared at my drawing. For some reason, I was drawn to it. I was drawn to the unknown figure, to the the hand reaching towards it and the tall trees in the background. It felt like I belonged there, in those woods, with that person, but life doesn't work like that. It's never that easy.

Sighing, I turned around and walked downstairs.

I woke up early today because it was Bella's birthday and I wanted to surprise her. I know she said no presents but I didn't care. The fact that I sucked at picking out presents didn't matter. Did she really think I wasn't gonna get my own sister a birthday present?

I bursted into her room and yelled, "HAPPY BIRTHDAYYYYYYYYY!"

Today, I have to be happy. For my sister.

She jumped up from her covers and Charlie came walking in behind me. He gave her a camera and a photo book from mom. I gave her a picture of me and her from when we were little and a journal with pens in a small box I decorated. It wasn't the best but, she liked it.

"I thought I said no presents guys," Bella sighed, "Thank you though."

"You're welcome," We both said.

We both got ready for school. I wore a dark blue hoodie, black biker shorts that go a couple inches above my knees and huaraches.

Bella goes over to talk to Edward once we park, as usual, and I headed into the school.

~~~
Later, we went over to the Cullen's house. They exchanged happy birthdays and gifts. Emmett gave her a new car radio, which I'm happy about since her's absolutely sucked, and Rosalie gave Bella a necklace.
"Ah!" Bella hissed. I looked over to her to see that her finger was bleeding. The calm, happy vibe shifted in seconds and everyone's attention turned to Jasper. Their eyes were filled with caution, making me slowly scan over the crowd. They all look like deers caught in headlights and it makes me nervous. Why was everyone looking at him?
He looked like he was in pain, well he always does but, more pain than usual. His eyes were dark, not the golden color they usually are, and his jaw slumped slightly, making his mouth open. Jasper lunged at Bella and Edward pushed Bella backwards, sending her crashing into a table.
"Edward, what the fuck?!" I screech out, surprised that he just pushed her like that and with the strength that he did. She's on the ground, glass all around her, and in pure shock. I am too, along with my confusion. Everything just want from 0-100 in seconds.
I instantly ran over to her and grabbed some napkins that were near by. I wrapped the napkins around her arm, trying to stop the bleeding as much as I could.
"Are you okay?" I ask in a panicked voice, not liking not only the fact that she's hurt but the overall atmosphere in the room. It doesn't feel right. I keep pressure on her arm and scanned the room, watching everything play out closely.
Alice tried to calm Jasper down by saying things like, "it's only a little blood" or, "you'll be okay, it's okay."
It's only a little bit blood? What is he a fucking vampire?
They were all on edge and Bella wouldn't stop bleeding. I never understood why Bella likes the Cullens so damn much. They're mysterious which makes me curious but, I don't trust them. They just don't sit right with me.
"Bella, we're leaving," I grabbed my purse, helped her stand up.
"What? Why? It's okay (y/n) everything's fine," she reared back and shrugged her arm away from me.
"What do you mean why? Did you not see what just happened?" She has got to be kidding me.
"Yeah but, everyone's fine. It was just an accident." She tried to calm me down.
"No, no you're not fine. This whole family is not fine. He literally just lunged at you like a fucking raccoon with rabies." I gestured to Jasper with a wave of my hand, not even caring that I was flat out talking shit about them right in front of their faces. They don't say anything and the looks on their faces tells me I'm right about one thing. Thy are not fine.
"Bella, that might be for the best," Carlisle said, "Will you at least allow me to wrap up her wounds before you both leave." I sigh and rub my forehead. Sometimes I feel like I'm the older sister.
They made me wait outside the room while Carlisle stitched Bella up. That left an uneasy feeling in my stomach considering what just happened but, I waited anyways. It's not like I had a choice.
"Hey, you didn't get hurt anywhere, did you?" Edward asked as he waited for Bella outside the door too.
"I'm fine, worry about your family," I turned away and walked out the front door. I don't know why I was so rude to him just now, he was only being nice, but I can shake the odd feeling I have for him and the rest. I need to stay far, far away from them.
